Chapter 477: A Miss is as Good as a Mile

Tina shook her head dejectedly. "I don't know. I have to report back to the master. According to Mr. Law, the girl doesn't know the knots are our family's legacy. She even plans to teach the lover's knot to her friends. If she keeps this up, the knowledge will spread, and the knots will lose their significance for our family."

She covered her forehead with her hand, sighing in self-reproach. "That's also why the master wants her dead. Liverton is different from Taurus. Here, we can't just kill people as we please."

Young Master Micheal nodded in understanding. Henriana and Ryeland were different; Henriana didn't allow private gun ownership, and its law enforcement was extremely strict. Killing someone there would come at a great cost.

And Liverton was Charlie's turf. How could he allow his wife to be endangered there?

Tina waved her hand, "Let's go back first and wait for the master's decision."

...

In Taurus, inside a mansion.

Tina kneeled before the elder, her face showing defeat. "Master, I have failed. Charlie and Nancy have escaped."

The elder, sitting in the master's seat, holding a cane, his back slightly hunched, exuded a chilling aura that commanded respect.

He spoke with a cold, steady voice, "Escaped? Where did they go?"

Tina, kneeling, replied respectfully, "They've returned to Liverton. When we arrived at the hotel, they had just left. We drove as fast as we could, but we couldn't catch up."

She bowed her head further in submission, "Please punish me, master."

"Punishment is necessary."

The elder's voice grew even colder, "but now you're telling me they're in Liverton, and we haven't killed them. If Nancy teaches the knots to others, is our family just supposed to wait for its downfall?"

Tina shivered slightly, keeping silent.

Young Master Micheal, seated nearby, couldn't help but speak up for her, "Grandpa, Charlie is too cunning. We were just one step behind..."

"A miss is as good as a mile!"

The elder shouted, silencing Young Master Micheal.

No one in the family dared challenge the elder's authority.

The room fell into a suffocating silence.

After a while, the elder asked again, "So, what do we do now?"

Tina clenched her teeth, speaking under pressure, "I request to go to Liverton. No matter what, I must kill Nancy."

"You?"

The elder scoffed. "You've already alerted them by failing this time. Do you think you can just go to Liverton and succeed?"

Tina bit her lip, not daring to guarantee success.

After a long hesitation, Young Master Micheal finally spoke, "Grandpa, we shouldn't always be quick to violence. Maybe they sensed our intent to kill and left in a hurry. And have you considered how a girl from Henriana came to know our family's legacy?"

The elder coldly replied, "I don't care how she knows. Just kill her, and it's done!"
