Chapter 493: You're the One Who Can Drink a Thousand Cups Without Getting Drunk

The old master and lady knew all too well that Nancy's abrupt decision to leave was for Charlie's sake.

They were also keenly aware of what their second son had just done, intending to provoke Charlie.

The elderly couple nodded amiably, "Alright, if it's important, don't delay. Go ahead."

If Nancy didn't take Charlie away quickly, they really didn't know what their younger son might do next. Provoking Charlie could lead to an ugly scene.

David, Hamya, and the others were still clueless, asking in confusion, "Nan, what's the matter?"

"Yeah, you just got here. Why do you have to leave so suddenly?"

Linda pouted, "Nan..."

Before she could continue, Nancy calmly looked at her, "Linda, stay here and enjoy yourself with your teacher. The Lesser family will take you all back later, don't worry."

Linda wanted to say more, but Nancy had already swiftly left with Charlie.

Exiting the banquet hall, Nancy and Charlie boarded a sightseeing car and headed towards the Lesser family's gate.

Throughout the journey, Charlie remained silent, his thin lips pressed into a straight line, his face dark and ominous.

Nancy didn't speak either, holding his hand tightly as if trying to transfer her strength to him.

Even after getting into their own car, Charlie remained wordless, resting his head gently on Nancy's shoulder like a wounded child.

Back at the villa, Nancy fetched a bottle of red wine, opened it, and got two glasses, tilting her head at Charlie.

"Let's go, back to the room for a drink."

Smiling, she raised the wine bottle. Seeing this, the corners of Charlie's tightly pursed lips finally relaxed.

He stood up, laughing softly, "One bottle? That's not enough for you. You're the one who can drink a thousand cups without getting drunk."

Nancy looked at him speechlessly as he fetched two more bottles of red wine, almost overwhelmed.

Where did he get the idea she could drink a thousand cups without getting drunk?

Women naturally have a lower tolerance for alcohol; she could only drink a little more than the average person...

But she didn't say anything, knowing Charlie was in a bad mood. She took the wine bottle and glasses and followed him upstairs.

In the room, Nancy locked the door and sat with Charlie on the carpet at the foot of the bed. She opened the wine bottle and poured the wine into the glasses.

As soon as the wine was poured, Charlie picked up his glass and drank the ruby-red liquid down his throat in one gulp.

Nancy only saw his Adam's apple move a few times before the glass was empty. She refilled his glass.

This time, she poured half a glass, but Charlie still downed it in one go as if drinking water.

Nancy took a deep breath and poured him another half glass.

After several refills, one bottle of red wine was nearly finished.

She thought she was called the one who could drink a thousand cups without getting drunk, but it seemed Charlie fit that description more accurately.

Yet she said nothing and continued to pour for him.

After ten glasses, Charlie exhaled deeply and finally stopped drinking with half-closed eyes.

Charlie with half-closed eyes had a profound stability, a unique charm that deeply fascinated Nancy.

She watched him, not saying a word, but her cheeks quietly turned red.

Perhaps feeling warm from the alcohol, Charlie unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, revealing half of his chest. The sight of his well-defined muscles caused Nancy's pupils to shake intensely...
