Nancy nodded, "Yes, Charlie bought one in City Nustin and then bought an identical one for me after we arrived in Liverton."
Had it been any other brother, he would surely have been happy for his sister. Even Henry's two friends smirked ambiguously, obviously a bit envious. But Henry's face grew even uglier.
"Sis, didn't you tell me we should rely on ourselves? Now you're relying on a man to achieve your goals, saying one thing and doing another!"
Indeed, Nancy had said this to Henry, and the reason she gave up her well-established piano career was not to rely on Charlie's connections and to advance rapidly. She had read so many books and obtained many certificates; she had her own dreams.
However, now was clearly not the time to explain this to Henry. She reached out and gently grabbed Henry's arm, "You didn’t come to Liverton just to question me, right? Let's go back with me first, and then we can find time to talk properly."
"No need."
Henry harshly shook off her hand, his face cold, "We've booked a hotel. I'm just informing you that I'm in Liverton. You go back and be lovey-dovey with Charlie. I don’t need anything."
As soon as he finished speaking, his two friends started complaining.
"Henry, when did we book a hotel?"
"Yeah, hotels in Liverton are so expensive, and it costs so much. If your sister's house can accommodate us, let's stay at her place."
"Shut up, both of you!"
Henry turned and yelled at them, "We may be poor, but we must have our dignity! We won’t accept charity."
One of the boys shook his head in disbelief, "What charity? She's your sister!"
Henry’s facial muscles tensed, and he bit his teeth hard before saying stiffly, "She's not my real sister. We have no blood relation."
The two boys suddenly fell silent.
Indeed, if she wasn't a real sister and there was no blood relation, it wouldn't be right to trouble her further.
Suddenly, a foot kicked Henry in the butt, causing him to jump up in pain.
Nancy, like a parent disciplining a child, grabbed Henry's collar with her left hand and swung her handbag with her right hand at his head.
"No blood relation? I'm not your sister? Henry, do you have no conscience? You've been living with me since you were eight. Your living expenses, tuition, all were earned by me and Master with hard work. I raised you up, and now you deny me?"
Henry's head was hit repeatedly, and curiously, despite being 1.8 meters tall and being grabbed and hit by Nancy, he didn't dare to fight back, only raising his hands to cover his face.
Nancy was so angry she was nearly smoking, and without caring that his two friends were standing there in shock, she swung her handbag, jumping and hitting him on the head.
"About to graduate and you've grown wings, huh? Henry, if I had known you were so heartless, I should have let Master throw you into the river to drown!"
Nancy grew angrier as she hit him, kicking him in the butt again, "You little brat, did you come to Liverton just to anger me to death? Fine, don't recognize me as your sister, but now you should repay me for the more than ten years of upbringing!"
Henry, having lost his temper, hung his head down in defeat, "Sis, I'm sorry, I shouldn’t have said those things to hurt you..."
