Chapter 503: Then Why Do I Feel Like You've Been Acting Strange Today?

After returning to his room, Henry sat on his bed, sulking alone.

He was frustrated with his two friends for their lack of spine, actually calling Charlie "brother-in-law," and even more annoyed with Charlie's know-it-all demeanor, as if he had seen right through Henry's heart.

At the peak of his frustration, he took out his laptop and after booting it up, he contacted the person he had been in touch with before.

"Are you there?"

The response came quickly, "Yes, have you arrived in Liverton?"

Henry typed fervently, "Yes! I've arrived. When can we meet?"

"Heh... Young man, you seem in a hurry?"

How could Henry not be anxious?

He was desperate for money, believing that with it, he could persuade Nancy to leave Charlie.

But he wasn't naive, replying coolly, "I've been contacted by three companies. You're the first I've decided to meet. If we can't come to an agreement, I'll move on to the others. I don't want to waste time."

The reply was swift, "Fine. Tomorrow morning at 10, at Grand Era Group. Just ask for Derek West at the reception."

After finalizing the meeting, Henry finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He wasn't in Liverton to play but to do business.

If this deal went through, he'd have a substantial income and, with it, some leverage.

Suddenly, there was a gentle knock on the door. Henry quickly closed his laptop and invited the knocker in.

Nancy entered, carrying a tray.

"Henry, I brought you a fruit platter."

After placing the fruit platter next to the laptop, Nancy pulled up a chair and sat beside Henry.

"Henry, are you facing some trouble?"

Henry took a deep breath, suppressing his negative emotions before shaking his head calmly, "No, sis, I'm fine."

"Hmm?"

Nancy frowned in disbelief. "Really? Then why do I feel like you've been acting strange today?"

"No."

Henry denied, "I'm just too excited to see you after such a long time."

Not pressing further, Nancy sensed Henry might just be going through a rebellious phase.

"Alright then. Just remember to eat the fruit platter. If you want anything else, there's plenty of snacks in the living room cabinet and milk and desserts in the fridge..."

"Sis..."

Before she could finish, Henry grabbed her wrist, pulling her back to sit down.

Looking at Nancy's puzzled expression, he earnestly asked, "Sis, if I made enough money to cover our living expenses for half a lifetime, would you divorce Charlie?"

Nancy blinked, then blinked again, shocked by Henry's question.

She gave a bitter laugh, half annoyed, half mocking, "Henry, do you really think I married Charlie for money?"

This rhetorical question made Henry's heart skip a beat.

He knew the answer but refused to admit it, stubbornly saying, "I know, you married Charlie because Vivian Mirren forced you..."

Nancy corrected him, "Her name is Vivian Lesser now."

"That doesn't matter to me!"

Henry grew angry, "I just know you were forced, pressured. During your time with Charlie, you've grown accustomed to the luxury, you can't extricate yourself, you've lived in luxury for too long, so you couldn't possibly divorce Charlie and return to a life of poverty!"
