Nancy sensed the atmosphere but did not say anything. After completing the onboarding procedures, Sophia took her to the technical department.
"Everyone, please pay attention, this is our new Technical Director, Nancy."
The people in the technical department just turned their heads to glance at her and then turned back around, not giving Nancy, the president's wife, any respect.
Nancy, unfazed, curled her lip and asked Sophia, "Where's my office?"
Sophia pointed to a room on the second floor, "Your office is there. Do you need me to take you up?"
"No, thank you."
Nancy smiled and then walked towards the staircase leading to the second floor.
The staircase on the second floor went across the entire technical department's office area. The tech department's staff completely ignored her presence, focusing silently on their computers.
Nancy glanced at them, sneered in her heart, and was about to move on when she noticed an unoccupied computer with its screen on, displaying an unfinished program.
Curiosity led her to it, and after reviewing the program, she frowned.
"Who wrote this? It's like something a primary school student would do."
Feeling a technical itch, she sat down at the desk, grabbed the mouse, clicked somewhere, and began rapidly typing on the keyboard.
The technicians nearby, seeing this scene, were filled with righteous indignation and wanted to scold her, but their respect for her position forced them to remain seated, glaring angrily at Nancy.
Ten minutes later, Nancy, satisfied with the completed program, clapped her hands, "Done!"
"Who the hell are you!? Why are you messing with my computer?"
At that moment, a man rushed over furiously, grabbed Nancy's arm without a word, and yanked her up from the seat.
Nancy frowned at him, "Your computer? Isn't everything here owned by the company? When did it become yours personally?"
Her retort left the man red-faced and glaring as if he wanted to devour Nancy.
The other men who had already disliked Nancy immediately stood up, giving her cold, harsh looks.
"Even if the computer belongs to the company, once it's issued to us and within the company premises, it's considered our own. Do you know how many programs, how many important files are in there? You just came in and randomly typed away, ruining the programs we've worked hard on, are you going to take responsibility?"
"Just because you're the president's wife doesn't mean you can do whatever you want in our technical department."
"I think Mr. Firth parachuting you into our department is just to cause trouble! Probably because he's disappointed that the Grand Era Group released something similar to ours and doesn't want to disband the technical department openly, so he sent you to mess things up!"
Four men attacking Nancy, a single woman, with such vigor and posture as if they were the company owners.
Nancy crossed her arms and calmly observed them, "I am your superior, and naturally, I will take responsibility for any issues. Also, about the program just now, it was supposed to increase precision but had a three-millimeter error. Even if it was written out, could it be used?"
This comment enraged the four men even more.
"A three-millimeter deviation is within the acceptable range. You don't understand anything, so stop spouting nonsense!"
"Three millimeters is already the highest precision level domestically. What do you know!"
