How did they end up feeling like elementary school kids in front of Nancy?
"Hehe..."
Xander immediately stood up from his seat, scurried into the pantry, and shortly after, returned with a cup of coffee, running obsequiously to Nancy's side.
"Boss, coffee for you!"
Thomas and the other two gritted their teeth in secret, unwilling to be outdone, they stood up. Thomas, shamelessly, positioned himself behind Nancy, placing his hands on her shoulders to give her a massage.
"Boss, you’re too incredible. From now on, I’ll follow you. You tell me to go east, and I won’t go west!"
Louis cursed under his breath, calling him a brown-noser, then crouched down, clenched his fist, and gently tapped Nancy's leg.
"Boss, is the pressure okay? Are you comfortable?"
Another guy named Sam, who was usually the slowest to act, saw the other three already cozying up to Nancy and found no room for himself. He rubbed his head, looking dejected, and said, "Boss, do you need a lackey? I’ll be your lackey."
Xander and the other two immediately looked at him. He shrugged, and they gave him a disdainful glance before turning back to Nancy, chorusing, "Boss, can I also be your lackey?"
Nancy looked at the four men, lifting her chin proudly, "I don’t just take anyone as my lackey. If you’ve got no skills, I don’t want you."
"Boss, boss, I can tell jokes, keep you entertained!"
"Boss, I can endure hardship, no complaints about overtime!"
"Boss, I’m good for anything, even warming your bed if you want."
"Thomas, are you looking to die?"
Sam slapped him on the head, "If Mr. Firth hears that, you can pack your bags and leave!"
Thomas froze, belatedly realizing his mistake, and slapped his own mouth, "My bad, my bad, hehe, just let it in one ear and out the other, boss."
Nancy chuckled, then raised her hand to stop them, "Alright, today is my first day at work. Let's have a meeting with all members of the technical department."
"Boss."
Xander interjected, "Although our company's technical department is divided into many sections, our department operates independently from those, meaning, even though you hold the title of technical director, you only manage us four and Simon. So... about that meeting..."
His implication was there wasn’t a need for one.
At most, they could call Simon for a small meeting.
Nancy hadn’t expected to manage the entire company's technical department upon her arrival. She nodded in understanding.
"Then, let's just have a meeting with the company's executives and our technical department."
"Company executives?"
Thomas’s eyes widened in disbelief, "Boss, the company's higher-ups are currently displeased with us! Having a meeting now would invite a lot of scorn and ridicule..."
With a mole causing years of hard work to go down the drain, anyone would be upset.
And in their department, totaling just four people plus Simon, it was clear that the mole had to be one of them.
But Xander and his team staunchly denied it, making their situation in the company extremely difficult.
"It's okay."
Nancy waved her hand dismissively, "I'll send this email myself. I want to see who dares to mock me!"
