Xander nodded, then stood up. Despite being surrounded by company executives, he remained calm and composed as he presented.
He detailed the benefits brought about by the increased precision and discussed the market prospects following the program's modification.
Although Nancy appeared to be watching him, her peripheral vision was discreetly monitoring Simon. Despite Simon’s good act, some micro-expressions did not escape Nancy’s notice.
"Alright, that concludes my presentation."
After Xander finished, just as he was about to sit down, an executive suddenly spoke up, "Xander, your explanation sounds great, but how do we know it's true? Besides, only the four of you in the tech department have seen this one millimeter precision increase. We haven’t seen it."
Indeed, it was just Xander's word so far, without any demonstration of the program, which understandably could lead some to be skeptical.
He looked at Nancy, seeking her opinion with his eyes.
Nancy's gaze shifted to the executive who had just expressed doubt, "It's not that we don't want to show the program to everyone right now, but as you all know, the tech department's program that had been developed over several days was suddenly registered and launched by Grand Era Group."
With that, she sarcastically curved her lips, "I'm not suspecting anyone, but being new here, I don't trust anyone either. So, I'm sorry, but all technical aspects of the tech department will be absolutely confidential from now on!"
The executive's face stiffened, and, regardless of Charlie being there, he angrily slammed his hand on the table, "Nancy! What do you mean by this!? The company's secrets are leaked, and instead of looking for the problem within your tech department, you suspect us executives!?"
A loud "snap" made everyone's heart tremble, with the more timid Sam even shrinking his neck.
Charlie's deep eyes suddenly narrowed, his cold gaze landing on the executive, yet he remained silent, sitting there quietly.
Nancy didn’t come to the company to throw her weight around using Charlie’s influence.
Almost instantly after the executive's words, her hand rose and forcefully slammed down on the table.
With a "bang" louder than the executive’s table slap, the executive was startled into leaning back against his chair, blinking rapidly from the shock.
"What are you yelling for!? You think you're the only one who can yell? Now, as the director of the tech department, what I say goes. If I feel like showing it to you, I will. If I don't, what are you going to do about it, acting all fierce, as if you're going to eat someone?"
The executive was red-faced with anger, "Nancy, what kind of attitude is this!?"
"What attitude?"
Nancy crossed her arms, looking leisurely over, "This is my way of informing you, take it or leave it. And even if I did show you, would you understand it?"
This left the questioning executive speechless.
Not being a programmer, even if Xander showed him the program right then, he wouldn’t understand anything beyond a bunch of characters.
Seeing the atmosphere growing more tense, another executive quickly intervened with a smile, attempting to smooth things over, "Mrs. Firth is right; after all, this is a matter for the tech department. Just keep us posted on any progress, hehe... Waston, what's with the temper?"
He then passed Waston his cup, "Here, have some coffee to cool down."
