Seeing Nancy asked, Mr. Smith couldn't help but smile awkwardly.
"Hehe, Mrs. Firth, I've heard about you from Linda before, saying that you can weave knots. When you were in Taurus, you wove a lover's knot for Young Master Firth. It's almost our 30th wedding anniversary, and I was wondering... if you could weave one for me to give to my wife?"
Micheal was originally just listening, but when Mr. Smith suddenly mentioned the lover's knot, his eyes lit up suddenly, as if he had seen a mountain of gold and silver, and he stared at Nancy eagerly and excitedly.
Nancy, however, didn't notice him. After hearing Mr. Smith's words, she just smiled helplessly, "Mr. Smith, it's just a lover's knot. If you want it, just ask. Why go in such a big circle?"
At this, she suddenly turned to look at Linda, "Linda, didn't I teach you before? If you make it and give it to Mr. Smith, wouldn't that be more meaningful?"
"No!"
Who knew, before Linda could speak, Micheal, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, jumped up from his seat, "No, Nancy, how can you..."
Seeing everyone looking at him in surprise, Micheal suddenly realized something. He quickly composed his anxious expression and sat down sulkily, "Well... continue..."
Linda glared at him annoyedly, then pouted and hummed in frustration, "Nan, that lover's knot is just too hard. You've taught me for so long, and I still haven't learned it."
Micheal breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.
Fortunately, Linda was slow and hadn't learned it; otherwise... if his grandfather found out, who knows what might happen.
He couldn't defy the wishes of the elders in his family, or else he wouldn't have traveled all the way to Liverton alone.
After hearing Linda's words, Nancy laughed helplessly, "How have you still not learned it? That's very simple, you know? I taught myself, after all."
"You think everyone is like you."
Linda started to mumble resentfully, "Humph! I don't care, I won't learn it anymore. If I want one in the future, I'll just ask you to weave it for me, Nan. With our friendship, you can't refuse."
Seeing Nancy asking Linda to weave, Mr. Smith thought Nancy was unwilling, so he quickly said, "Mrs. Firth, not to hide from you, my wife's family is quite an old lineage, and they all like those traditional handicrafts. If I could give my wife a lover's knot on our anniversary, she would surely be moved to tears."
"Hehe... Mr. Smith, don't worry, I'm not unwilling."
Nancy explained with a smile, "I just think that if Linda weaves it herself, your wife would be even more touched. Since Linda can't do it, I don't mind weaving one for you. It just so happens that I still have many jade and pearl beads that my husband gave me. I'll string them on and weave it for you."
"Oh, that's really so kind of you!"
Mr. Smith stood up excitedly, grabbed Nancy's hand, his eyes brimming with tears, "My wife and I have been deeply in love for thirty years. I've always wanted to give her a meaningful gift but never found the right one. This time, with Mrs. Firth's help, I'm so grateful. If Mrs. Firth ever needs anything in the future, just ask!"
