A penthouse is just a small favor?
This was something the old Nancy could never have imagined!
She felt her life had become vibrant and colorful after meeting Charlie.
At this moment, Micheal was the most shocked of all.
He would never again refer to the Thompson family's heirlooms as outdated antiques. Though a penthouse was not much for the Thompson family, the fact that it was exchanged for a lover's knot still astounded him.
After Nancy reluctantly nodded in agreement to accept the penthouse, he feigned curiosity and asked, "Nancy, you said you're self-taught? There must have been someone or something that introduced you to the existence of lover's knots, right?"
Nancy didn't have any dislike for him; she just found his way of speaking a bit odd. Besides, she didn't know the significance of that book, so she didn't hide anything.
"Oh, it's like this. I have a book at home that describes many types of knot weaving methods. Girls tend to be interested in these things. When I was young, my family wasn't well-off, and I didn't have many toys. So, I learned from the book and treated it as if I were playing with toys."
Micheal's eyes widened, "A book!? So, you know how to weave more than one type of knot?"
"Yes."
Nancy nodded earnestly, "The book lists dozens of weaving methods. Lover's knots and yearning knots are just one or two types. There are many more. Why, Young Master Micheal, are you also interested in knots?"
"Ah? Hahaha..."
Micheal immediately hid his surprised expression and laughed it off, "Some elders in my family know how to weave knots too. They even forced me to learn. But how could a boy like me be interested in such things? So, I didn't learn. But now, seeing you exchange a lover's knot for a penthouse, I kind of regret it, hahaha..."
"Your family's elders can weave too?"
Nancy suddenly thought of something, her amber eyes widening, "Right, your surname is Thompson! And there's only the Thompson name on the cover of my book. Could it be... that my book is from one of your family's elders?"
"Ah?"
This revelation shocked Micheal even more!
With the Thompson name on the book's cover, there was no doubt; that book must have been a gift from one of his family's elders to someone close to Nancy!
Micheal suppressed his excitement and asked casually, "Do you know who the book in your family belongs to?"
"This..."
Nancy sighed and shook her head, "Honestly, I don't know. The book has been in my family for as long as I can remember. My father... oh, not my father, my adoptive father, he has amnesia and can't remember what happened over the past twenty years. So, I guess no one can answer that for you."
Micheal had already investigated Nancy's background, and her life story was no secret. After she exchanged identities with Vivian and married Charlie, her affairs became widely known.
Thus, Micheal was aware of Andrew and his amnesia.
This matter was becoming complicated.
He smiled subtly, "Then, Nancy, I have an awkward request, not sure if I should ask..."
Henry, who had been silent, suddenly glared at him with hostility, "If you know it's inappropriate to ask, then don't."
Micheal glanced at Henry annoyedly and decided to be straightforward, looking at Nancy, "Nancy, you mentioned a book. I wonder where it is now and if I could possibly take a look at it?"
