Chapter 570: You're Not That Old Man's Son, Are You?

Micheal could certainly detect the hostility in Charlie's voice, but he just responded with a light smile, "Indeed, I'm not from Henriana, but I am Henrianan. My ancestors were from Henriana, but they moved overseas and changed their nationality for convenience."

Charlie raised an eyebrow, "So, Young Master Micheal, you came back to the country alone just for that book?"

At that moment, Micheal felt that Charlie was much more challenging to deal with than Nancy.

Charlie's deep eyes seemed to see right through him, as if no matter what lies he told or how he tried to joke his way out, he couldn't fool him.

He knew that if he didn't clarify things, Charlie would not let Nancy bring out the book. So, he walked over and sat on the sofa next to Charlie, looking ready for a deep conversation.

"I've mentioned to Nancy before that I didn't know about that book until today."

Charlie took Nancy's hand, asking her to sit beside him, while Linda and the others found their own seats on the sofas. The group surrounded Micheal, watching him with either caution or curiosity.

Micheal shook his head with a smile, "I really don't have any bad intentions."

Seeing Charlie's eyes narrow slightly, clearly losing patience, Micheal sighed and quickly got to the point.

"It's like this, before, Nancy, Mr. Firth, and Linda went to H Town in Taurus for a stroll, right?"

Nancy and Charlie didn't speak, but Linda, who was quite naive, nodded, "Yes, we went there for a piano training camp, about a month ago. What does that have to do with the book?"

"Well... it doesn't have much to do with the book, but..."

Micheal Thompson pressed his lips together, his eyes suddenly turning cold, "You must remember visiting a jade store where an old man fainted because of you, right?"

"What?"

Linda's eyes widened in shock, looking incredulously at Micheal, "You can't be that old man's son, can you!?"

Micheal, "..."

Something seemed to dawn on Linda, and she became frantic, her face turning red as a ripe red apple.

"Ah!? You're not here for revenge, are you? That day, the old man indeed fainted because of us, but Nan revived him, and we even kindly called an ambulance. Moreover, we were worried about the shop being unattended, so Mr. Firth had someone help close it. We didn't harm him... Could it be... he went to the hospital and didn't make it, and died?"

Micheal, "..."

This cute-looking young girl not only talked a lot but also had a wild imagination!

Micheal looked at her speechlessly, "Which eye of yours sees me as his son?"

He was a bit angry with his question, and Linda blinked, embarrassedly laughing, "Ahahaha... isn't it?"

Micheal's face darkened, "Of course not!"

"That's good!"

Linda relievedly patted her chest, "I thought you were here for revenge. You scared me!"

Micheal was almost frustrated by Linda. He felt that if he didn't clarify things soon, everyone there might think he was there for revenge. Looking at Henry's expression, which was fiercely revealing, it seemed like he might pounce and tear Micheal apart any moment.
