Chapter 575: How Is That Possible!?

Although the elderly man appeared frail, his eyes were incredibly sharp, especially when displayed on the computer screen. They seemed electrified, fixating intensely on Micheal Thompson, causing Micheal's breathing to tighten under the immense pressure.

"Micheal, you've been in Liverton for over half a month now. Why is it only now that you're contacting me?"

Micheal's heart raced uncontrollably under his grandfather's intense scrutiny.

"Gr... Grandfather..."

He stuttered, "I... I..."

Seeing Micheal's flustered state, Arthur's brows furrowed instantly, "Speak clearly!"

Micheal took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but the sight of Arthur's piercing eyes made him nervous. He shifted his gaze slightly to the side, alleviating some of the pressure.

"Grandfather, Nancy has been busy since returning to the country, making it difficult for me to find an opportunity to approach her..."

Noticing Arthur's darkening expression, Micheal quickly got to the point, "But today, I made contact with her and learned something incredibly significant!"

Arthur's previously stern expression suddenly tensed, and his gaze sharpened even further, "What is it?"

"It's... that..."

Micheal, suppressing his excitement, recounted everything that had transpired with Nancy.

He didn't dare conceal anything, knowing if he didn't make progress, Arthur would surely send someone else to Liverton, potentially endangering Nancy.

As expected, Arthur's face grew even more somber after hearing the details.

"She has a book identical to our family heirloom? How is that possible!?"

Micheal offered a nervous smile, "Grandfather, Nancy is not Andrew's biological daughter, which raises many questions about her background. Honestly, I'm becoming more convinced of my speculation. Consider this: Vivian is Andrew's biological daughter, yet Andrew's ex-wife didn't take the book when they divorced, indicating it has no connection to her or Vivian."

Arthur remained silent, his intense gaze fixed on Micheal, waiting for him to continue.

The more Micheal spoke, the more he believed in his theory, feeling the pressure from Arthur dissipate.

He turned back, confidently smiling at Arthur through the computer screen.

"Now, there are only two possibilities for the book's existence! The first is that Andrew has some connection to our Thompson family, and one of our members gave him the book. But I find this highly unlikely because even if someone from the Thompson family was close to him, they wouldn't just replicate our family heirloom for him."

Arthur nodded, agreeing that this scenario seemed improbable, "And the second?"

Micheal's smile widened, "The second possibility is related to Nancy's mother. Given the resemblance between Nancy and Vivian, it's clear that Nancy's mother must be connected to Vivian's mother. And Nancy being fostered under Andrew's name suggests that her mother either met with some misfortune or is deceased."

Arthur nodded again, his expression softening slightly, "And then?"

Encouraged by his grandfather's interest, Micheal became even more animated.
