At this point, the primary doctor became even more excited.
"You know a student of Dr. Windward, right? Maybe she knows his other student! Why don't you call her and ask if she knows this person? If she doesn't, she could reach out to Dr. Windward, who definitely has that student's contact information."
Andrew, Old Mrs. Lesser, and Eva were all baffled by the doctor's words.
What student, what fellow disciples?
Old Mrs. Lesser frowned, puzzled, "Dr. Bell, are you saying Dr. Windward has another student who can perform the surgery on my husband?"
The doctor laughed heartily, "Yes, indeed! Her skills are on par with Dr. Windward's! If you can get her here, there shouldn't be any problem!"
The old lady's heart skipped a beat. They had just driven Nancy away, and now, asking her for help again seemed unlikely.
Biting her lip, she decided that if Dr. Windward's student could save her husband, she would swallow her pride and beg Nancy.
"Then... then..."
She nervously asked, "What's the name of Dr. Windward's student?"
The doctor's laughter ceased, and he looked at the old lady seriously and deliberately, "Her name is Nancy!"
Old Mrs. Lesser slid off her chair in shock, sitting dazed on the floor.
Nancy?!
How could it be Nancy?!
My goodness...
This was a dire revelation!
Eva and Andrew quickly helped Old Mrs. Lesser up, checking to see if she was hurt anywhere. Finding her only shaken, they were relieved.
Barely settled, Old Mrs. Lesser grabbed the doctor's hand, incredulously asking, "Dr. Bell, are you joking? Are you sure it's Nancy?"
"Absolutely!"
The doctor nodded emphatically, "I've met her at an academic conference before. Honestly, two surgeries she performed were so exemplary that many hospitals purchased the videos for educational purposes. Even our hospital has them! In the industry, it's said that if she continues in medicine, she'll surpass Dr. Windward!"
Old Mrs. Lesser, Andrew, and Eva were astounded.
They could never have imagined Nancy held such esteem in the medical field!
Old Mrs. Lesser's heart ached, "But, but she's so young... Aren't doctors supposed to get better with age and experience?"
"Who told you that?!"
The doctor sternly replied, visibly displeased, "While it's true that experience matters in medicine, it's not the only factor. Specialization is key. Nancy has been training under Dr. Windward since her master's degree. She's been personally taught by him and has performed over fifty surgeries without a single failure!"
The phrase "without a single failure" nearly made Old Mrs. Lesser and Eva choke in disbelief.
Just moments ago, they had dismissed Nancy's offer to perform the surgery, doubting and belittling her.
Old Mrs. Lesser had even harbored resentment towards Nancy over this.
It turned out Nancy wasn't playing them; she genuinely believed she could successfully perform the surgery!
"Oh, my..."
With trembling hands, she pointed in the direction Nancy had left, "Quick, quick, Nancy might not have gone far. You... you go and bring her back!"
