Chapter 595: Even Door-to-Door Salespeople Are Selling Dish Soap These Days

Eva Luther's face was ashen. If Nancy was still at the hospital, it would have been somewhat easier; she could have dragged Andrew with her. But now, with Nancy gone, the situation had become much more complicated for her.

Andrew put his phone down, sat on a chair with his legs crossed, and assumed a resigned demeanor, "Figure it out yourself."

Biting her lip in frustration, Eva had no choice but to take action. She couldn't let Old Master Lesser die; otherwise, she would be seen as a villain in the Lesser family.

"Fine! I'll go!"

Eva drove to Charlie's mansion, her emotions a tumultuous mix.

She had been here more than ten times, always hiding behind a tree across from the villa, never daring to step forward.

It was ironic that her first actual visit to Charlie's home was to seek Nancy's help.

Taking a deep breath, she rang the doorbell, and a middle-aged woman opened the door.

The woman was visibly startled to see her, and Eva was equally taken aback.

However, the woman quickly recovered and slammed the door shut without a word.

Charlie, Nancy, and Henry had just arrived home and were settling into the living room when someone knocked on the door.

Nancy turned to Maid Heather, curious, "Who is it, Maid Heather?"

Maid Heather was visibly angry, "Nobody important, just someone selling dish soap!"

"Huh?"

Nancy chuckled, "Is door-to-door sales for dish soap a thing now? Is the market that tough?"

Charlie, who had known Maid Heather for over two decades, could easily guess her mood. He smirked knowingly, "It must be Eva."

"Eva?"

Nancy blinked in surprise, "What would Eva want here?"

Having lived in Liverton for so long, Eva had never personally visited them. Was today an anomaly?

Henry, quick-witted, speculated, "She must be here for you, sis."

"For me?"

Nancy scoffed, "After belittling me at the hospital, I doubt she's here for me."

As they spoke, the doorbell rang again. Maid Heather stormed to the door, opened it, and saw Eva standing there. She lashed out, "What do you want? This is the Firth family's home, not the Lesser's. Mrs. Lesser, did you get lost?"

Eva, maintaining her composure, said, "I'm here to see Nancy. Please let her know..."

"I'm afraid Mrs. Firth is not available to see you!"

Maid Heather, finishing her sentence, slammed the door shut again.

This time, she didn't retreat but stood behind the door, arms crossed, waiting.

Sure enough, the doorbell rang once more. Maid Heather, sneering, opened the door, "Mrs. Lesser, are you unwell? Knowing you're unwelcome, yet you persistently ring our bell. Believe me, I can call security to escort you out!"
