Chapter 599: So It Really Could Be Quentin!?

Charlie's gaze was downcast, and his expression was as cold as frost.

"Just sorry to me? Heh... then it's not important."

Before Nancy could ask the next question, he looked up sharply at Eva.

"Today, on our way to the company, we experienced a car accident that was clearly man-made. I want to know, did Quentin do it?"

"What?"

Eva was shocked. "A car accident!?"

She sprang up and rushed over to grab Charlie's shoulders, anxiously checking his condition. Charlie indifferently lifted his hand and impatiently pushed her away.

"Fortunately, my driver reacted quickly, and we're all fine."

Eva breathed a sigh of relief, a genuine one that anyone could see.

She returned to her seat, gave Charlie another once-over, and then smiled in relief.

"It's good that you're fine, really good."

Charlie stared into her eyes, asking word by word, "Tell me, did Quentin do it?"

Eva frowned slightly and shook her head. Everyone expected her to assertively tell Charlie that Quentin couldn't have done it, but instead, she said, "I don't know."

Charlie's eyes narrowed dangerously, like a predator eyeing its prey, cold, detached, and threatening. "You don't know?"

"I really don't know."

Eva laughed at herself. "Because of the incident with Taylor and Henry, Quentin and I have been in a cold war. Moreover, the old master had a heart attack yesterday because of Quentin, and I've been at the hospital all along. I haven't communicated with him for a long time."

"Alright, I understand."

Charlie didn't ask further and gestured for her to leave. "You can go now."

"I..."

Eva looked at Nancy, hoping for something unsaid.

Nancy spread her hands helplessly, "Since you've answered my questions, I will naturally go to the hospital to perform the surgery on the old master. You go ahead; I'll follow shortly."

"That's good."

Eva stood up excitedly, wanting to express her gratitude to Nancy, but the words wouldn't come out. After struggling for a bit, she only managed to say two words, "Thank you."

Nancy smiled. "You're welcome."

Eva smiled at Nancy, then turned and hurriedly left.

It was the first time Nancy saw her smile.

The feeling was different...

It was like a long-feuding mother-in-law suddenly having a change of heart, showing kindness to her daughter-in-law, giving a sense of triumphant joy.

Nancy stood up, ready to head to the hospital, but Charlie suddenly grabbed her hand.

Nancy turned to him. "Hmm? What's wrong?"

Charlie's expression was ominously dark. "Eva said she doesn't know, which means it's something Quentin is capable of doing! She just doesn't know if he was behind our car accident this time!"

Nancy's eyes widened. "So it really could be Quentin!?"

"Yes."

Charlie stood up. "I'll go to the hospital with you. You perform the surgery on Old Master Lesser, and Quentin will surely show up!"
