Chapter 600: Eva... is Charlie's Mother?

Nancy understood his concerns. If the surgery on the old master was successful, it would be fine, but if it failed, Quentin might take advantage of the situation and possibly target Nancy directly.

Henry, looking bewildered, seemed to realize something and asked with a frown, "Eva... is Charlie's mother?"

Nancy nodded, "Yes."

Henry, "..."

Are the relationships this complicated?

If he hadn't come to Liverton, he wouldn't have known that Nancy was despised by her mother-in-law.

Fortunately, Charlie's attitude towards Eva wasn't great either, which spared Nancy some grievances. Otherwise, he would have taken Nancy and left immediately!

"Then I'm going too!"

Knowing that Nancy and Charlie might face opposition, he stood up with a stern face, "If Quentin really tries something, I can protect my sister."

Charlie looked at him deeply and didn't refuse, "Alright, let's go together."

...

Old Mrs. Lesser and Andrew were anxiously waiting in the hospital, with the old lady checking her phone for the time almost every two minutes.

Waiting was torturous. After two hours, she tentatively looked at Andrew, "Andrew, why don't you call Eva to ask about the situation?"

Andrew was cold, "No."

"Oh, Andrew."

Old Mrs. Lesser's eyes reddened, as if she was about to cry, "Your father is in a critical condition right now. Put aside your pride and ask. You can't just watch your father die."

Andrew clenched his teeth, his facial muscles tensing, "Mom, I don't mean to criticize you and Eva, but think about it, weren't you and Eva in the wrong today?"

Old Mrs. Lesser pursed her lips in aggrievement, "I didn't expect Nancy to be capable."

Andrew scoffed, "I know Nan's character best. She's not one to joke around or make fun of others. She either agrees or refuses. Since she came today, it means she's confident about handling the situation. But what about you and Eva? You didn't even listen to her and drove her away..."

"I know I was wrong."

Old Mrs. Lesser grabbed Andrew's hand, her face showing embarrassment, "Stop it, I realize my mistake."

Only then did Andrew look at her, "Mom, I'm not trying to badmouth Eva, but her character, honestly, isn't great. She not only treats people she dislikes poorly but also likes to instigate. Today, if she hadn't stirred you up, you wouldn't have treated Nan that way, right?"

Old Mrs. Lesser thought about it, and it seemed to be the case.

She had been too anxious and hopeful, so when Eva stirred her up, her disappointment grew, leading to her attitude towards Nancy.

Realizing this, her eyes narrowed, "You mean..."

"Yes."

Andrew nodded affirmatively, "Eva stirred you up today, and I can tell you, she's done the same to Vivian before. She might be good in other aspects, but this trait isn't. Mom, you should be more cautious in the future and not be led by her."

Old Mrs. Lesser lowered her head in shame. Having lived so long, she was played by Eva, which soured her mood.

"Alright, Andrew, I'll remember this and be more wary of her in the future."
