Chapter 601: What If You Bite the Dust

If Eva only instigated issues between her and Nancy, that would be one thing, but if one day she turned her manipulations towards her relationship with her son, that would spell disaster for the family.

While they were discussing, the elevator doors opened, and Eva came out, looking jubilant.

"Mom, big brother..."

The old lady looked behind Eva, saw she was alone, and her expression soured, "Why are you alone? Didn't you bring Nancy?"

Eva paused, her good mood plummeting.

Old Mrs. Lesser had always been kind to her, never this harsh.

But Eva quickly understood—it must be the old lady's concern for the old master's well-being. Nancy was the only one who could save him now, which explained the old lady's attitude.

She calmed herself and continued happily, "I did. She asked me to go ahead. She's preparing and will be here soon."

The old lady's spirits lifted, and she stood up quickly, "Really?"

Eva nodded vigorously, "Really, mom, I'm not lying. We can go inform Dr. Bell to prepare now."

"Good, good!"

The old lady grabbed Eva's hand, pulling her excitedly to find Dr. Bell, forgetting about Andrew sitting aside.

Andrew watched Eva and the old lady's departing figures, his brow furrowing slightly.

"Nan, you're truly kind, agreeing to Eva so easily..."

Half an hour later, Nancy, Charlie, and Henry arrived at the hospital.

Upon arrival, Nancy went to discuss the surgery details with Dr. Bell, while Charlie and Henry joined Old Mrs. Lesser and Andrew.

Henry observed Andrew intently, having not scrutinized him upon arrival due to the dispute between Nancy and Eva. Now, with some idle time as they awaited Nancy's surgery on Old Master Lesser, his gaze was sharp and focused, scanning Andrew's face like a scanner.

Feeling his stare, Andrew looked up, "You're Henry, right?"

Henry, leaning against the wall, walked over upon being addressed.

Standing before Andrew, his expression was complex, "I'm not sure what to call you now."

Andrew smiled softly, "Nan told me you're my foster son. Having raised you for so many years, even though I've lost my memory and can't recall the past, you calling me uncle seems fitting."

Amnesia?

Henry kept his gaze fixed on Andrew, trying to discern something in his eyes, but after a long look, he couldn't find the familiar expression Andrew used to have.

Really amnesiac?

Henry touched his nose, then laughed childishly, "Haha... I was just worried that calling you uncle might be too intimate. If I overstepped my bounds, I wouldn't be able to withstand the Lesser family's wrath again."

The first time, of course, referred to the incident with Taylor.

Andrew shook his head, smiling, "It's fine. My relationship with Nan is already very close, and since I've raised you, you can be close to me too. It's not a problem."

"Is that so?"

Henry slapped Andrew's shoulder, draping an arm around him like a brother and sitting beside him, "Haha, Andrew, let me tell you, when my sister told me you were missing, it scared me to death! You know, you're as close to me as my sister in this world. I couldn't bear to think, what if you bit the dust, what would my sister and I do?"
