Chapter 604: No Matter the Outcome, I'm Here!

Nancy looked up, her gaze shifting to Henry and Charlie, noting the grim expressions on their faces.

She didn't know what had transpired, but Quentin's presence meant it was unlikely to be anything positive.

"The surgery can begin, but I'm really concerned about leaving my husband and brother here."

"It's okay, it's okay."

Old Mrs. Lesser approached with a smile, "Nan, go ahead with the surgery without worries. Charlie and Henry will be fine here."

Nancy said nothing, her raised eyebrows directed at Quentin.

She was clearly indicating she couldn't proceed with the surgery with Quentin around.

The sharp-witted Old Mrs. Lesser immediately grasped Nancy's concern, turning swiftly to Quentin, she scolded, "Quentin, go home. We'll handle things here, and I'll call you once the surgery is over."

Quentin's lips pressed tightly as he locked eyes with Nancy, puzzled by his inability to intimidate her as he did with others. Nancy seemed utterly fearless.

He also knew that for the Lesser family, the patriarch's safety was paramount. Nancy's ability to use his presence as leverage meant he had no choice but to leave.

"Fine, I'm leaving!"

With a sneer, he walked away. Passing by Nancy, he paused, whispering coldly in her ear, "Nancy, you better pray the surgery succeeds. Otherwise, I will make sure you pay for my father's life."

After a chilling laugh, he walked away with his hands in his pockets, exuding arrogance.

Nancy closed her eyes, pushing Quentin's threats from her mind. She understood the importance of maintaining a calm mindset as a surgeon.

Even Dr. Bell couldn't help but curse, "Damn, is this Lesser family's second son really their son? How can he threaten the lead surgeon at a time like this? Isn't he afraid that the pressure could unsettle the surgeon, risking his father's life?"

Old Mrs. Lesser, startled, quickly grabbed Nancy's hand.

"Nan, don't listen to his nonsense. We all know there's no 100% success rate in surgeries. Even if it doesn't go well, it just means my husband's time has come, and it's not your fault. Please don't feel pressured!"

Even Eva, who wasn't fond of Nancy, agreed, "Yes, Nancy, don't worry. No matter the outcome, I'll do everything in my power to prevent Quentin from threatening you."

Nancy slowly opened her eyes, a hint of a smile in her amber eyes, "Don't worry. Although I'm not formally affiliated with a hospital, I've trained with my Master for years. I know how to maintain my composure."

Andrew approached, enveloping Nancy in a gentle hug, "Nan, we all believe in you. Go for it."

"Mm."

Nancy lightly patted Andrew's back, "Master, don't worry. I'll do my utmost to save the old master."

Andrew smiled, releasing Nancy and stepping aside.

Charlie and Henry approached. Charlie's eyes showed concern as he gently held Nancy's hand, his voice low, "I really wish you didn't have to perform this surgery, but I know you'll insist on going through with it. So, I can only support you, no matter the outcome."
