The grandmother went up to Nancy and took her hand, her affection as warm as if Nancy were her own granddaughter.
Nancy smiled and walked in with Charlie and Henry.
Sure enough, the meal was ready, a table full of dishes, but the Lesser family members hadn't sat down yet. They all stood up when they saw them coming.
Andrew was especially cordial. As soon as he saw Nancy, he whisked her away from the grandmother, showering her with warm inquiries about her recent work.
Standing to the side, Vivian and Taylor watched with eyes red with jealousy!
"What's so great about her? Isn't she just someone who performed a surgery for grandpa? How did she turn from a nobody into a somebody overnight?"
Vivian glanced at Taylor Lesser and inwardly groaned.
Before, she entered the Lesser family as Miss Lesser, thinking she would rise to prominence, but Nancy ruined everything!
Then, when she finally clung to Quentin's coattails, he lost his standing in the Lesser family not long after, making her life miserable!
She sneered, "Exactly, Nancy is just lucky, always so lucky. I regret not being harsher on her before!"
"Right."
Taylor glared at Nancy, fuming, "Now that dad is no longer in the Grand Era Group, my allowance has decreased a lot. It's all because of that wretched Nancy, she and Charlie are just despicable!"
The grandmother turned around and saw the two whispering, frowning, "What are you two still standing there for? Don't you need to eat?"
Vivian immediately pulled Taylor's hand, and they sat down next to Eva.
The grandfather sat at the head of the table, his health much improved, now only needing rest at home, so he had returned.
This dinner was essentially a thank-you banquet for Nancy.
Everyone took their seats, and the grandmother eagerly served Nancy with chopsticks. Nancy politely lifted her bowl and accepted with a smile.
Quentin Lesser was tense throughout, not saying a word, just eating his meal.
"Hehe..."
The grandfather chuckled, "I can't drink, Andrew, why don't you have a few drinks with Charlie?"
"Sure."
Andrew personally poured wine for Charlie, and the two men drank together, completely ignoring Quentin.
Quentin's last two months in the Lesser family were truly difficult. He had angered the grandfather to illness, and the Lesser family members largely ignored him.
Just then, Andrew's phone rang, a call from the gatekeeper.
Curiously, he looked at Charlie and Nancy, "Do you have friends coming?"
Nancy shook her head, "No, dad said today's dinner is just for family, we wouldn't bring friends."
That "dad" made Vivian feel like her heart was about to explode!
Damn it, despite all precautions, Nancy had still made her way into the Lesser family!
Andrew frowned in confusion and put the phone to his ear.
The respectful voice of the gatekeeper came through, "Young master, there's a woman here to see you and the young mistress."
"To see me and Vivian?"
Andrew's confusion deepened, "What's her name?"
After a quick question from the gatekeeper, Andrew heard a woman's voice, anxious and panicky, "My name is Lily Dench, I am Vivian's mother..."
With a "snap," Andrew's hand holding the chopsticks suddenly loosened, and the chopsticks fell onto the table unexpectedly.
