Nancy was equally surprised, "Yeah, honey, Henry is right. Dad lost his memory and doesn't remember the past twenty years, right? My background should be part of what he doesn't remember."
Charlie leaned back elegantly in his seat, a mocking smile on his lips, "Maybe he never lost his memory at all?"
"Err..." The car screeched to an abrupt halt, narrowly stopping in the middle of the road.
Nancy didn't care about anything else at this moment. She turned around from the front seat, looking at Charlie in shock along with Henry, "Honey, what did you say?"
Charlie raised an eyebrow, his deep voice carrying a chilly undertone, "I said, maybe he never lost his memory!"
Henry's hands, resting on his legs, suddenly clenched tightly, "I had my suspicions before, so I tested him. But he really seemed like he had amnesia. It should be... real amnesia, right?"
Nancy bit her lip hard, speaking with conviction, "Dad wouldn't lie to me. If he didn't lose his memory, he wouldn't deceive me!"
Charlie knew that Nancy wouldn't believe any negative news about Andrew, which was why he had so many reservations before.
As expected, neither Henry nor Nancy believed his speculation.
"Heh..."
He shook his head lightly, "I'm just guessing. Maybe I was wrong from the start. Micheal might not be looking for Lily because of Nan's background, and Lily might not have anything that threatens Andrew. They could simply want companionship."
Nancy let out a heavy breath, then another one. She knew better than anyone that Charlie wouldn't say anything without reason.
Even though she said she didn't believe it and firmly stood by Andrew, she felt shaken inside...
After all, it was hard to accept that someone she had known for over twenty years might not be who he appeared to be.
"Then, I'll keep driving."
She turned around, gripping the steering wheel tightly as if she wanted to crush it...
The three of them fell into silence. None of them could be certain of the truth, and they could only take it one step at a time and observe Andrew more closely.
Following Nancy's car, Micheal saw the car in front suddenly stop. He had to stop his car too and rolled down the window, sticking his head out, "What's going on? We were driving fine, why did we stop suddenly? Are they backing out and not taking me along?"
Feeling anxious, he was about to get out of the car to ask, but Nancy's car suddenly started again. He was taken aback for a moment and could only follow behind once more.
"What are they doing? Seems like they're sharing some secret..."
Soon, they arrived at the Lesser family’s mansion.
At the gate of the Lesser family’s mansion, the security guards were checking invitations. Nancy handed over her invitation, and the guard didn't even look at it before smiling and saying, "Mrs. Firth, no need to check. I can recognize you. Please come in."
"Thank you."
As Nancy retrieved her invitation, Micheal tried to slip past them. Suddenly, someone grabbed his collar from behind. He turned around to see Henry's cold face.
"Why are you grabbing me?"
