Even if a person has amnesia, their habits and tastes do not change.
In the past, if given a choice between these two cakes, Andrew Lesser would have chosen the peanut-flavored one because he would never let Nancy eat peanuts. He would rather eat something he didn't like than let Nancy get sick.
So, Nancy's gaze became intense, and she grew nervous...
This was her and Henry's test to see if Andrew really had amnesia!
After hearing Henry's words, Andrew smiled at him, "Henry, good thing you reminded me. I don't like peanuts, so I'll take the matcha-flavored one."
Then he picked up the matcha-flavored cake and gestured to Nancy, "Nan, the peanut one is for you."
Nancy stared at the matcha-flavored cake in his hand, completely petrified. Her face showed no extra expression, but inside, she was incredibly excited. Andrew really had amnesia! Otherwise, he would never have let her eat the peanut-flavored cake!
Seeing her sit there motionless, Andrew asked curiously, "What's wrong? Don't you like peanut flavor?"
"Sister..."
Henry was about to explain, but Nancy suddenly interrupted him, "I like it."
She then gave Henry a look, signaling him to keep quiet. She stood up and picked up the peanut-flavored cake from the plate.
She and Henry had been siblings for many years, and since Henry didn't have amnesia, he knew she was allergic to peanuts. If she admitted her allergy now, Andrew would definitely become suspicious of them.
Human relationships can't withstand tests, and she didn't want Andrew to harbor any doubts about her and Henry.
She sat down with the cake but couldn't bring herself to eat it.
Andrew took a bite of the matcha-flavored cake and smiled at her, "Nan, why aren't you eating? Your brother brought it for you."
"I..."
Nancy was thinking of an excuse to get out of this when Charlie suddenly stood up, walked over to Nancy, and, in front of everyone, bent down and took a bite of the peanut-flavored cake from her hand.
His lips gently brushed against Nancy's fingertips, creating an ambiguous sensation akin to a couple feeding each other.
"Hehe..."
Andrew laughed happily, "Charlie, there are plenty of cakes over there if you want one. Why are you taking Nan's?"
Charlie raised his hand and affectionately ruffled Nancy's hair before standing up and turning to Andrew, "I skipped breakfast this morning and got a bit hungry. Seeing the cake in Nan's hand looked so delicious, I couldn't resist."
"Hahaha..."
Andrew laughed even more joyfully, teasing Charlie, "I think you just wanted an excuse to show off your affection! Don't find excuses."
Charlie shrugged, admitting it without denial.
Andrew looked at his watch and nodded, "It's indeed late now, the wedding should begin. You all go sit over there. The meal will start soon."
He gave Micheal a polite smile and then walked away like a gentleman.
Micheal watched Andrew's back with a playful smile, "Nancy, is your father the same as before?"
Realizing his question was a bit unclear, he added, "I mean his personality, demeanor, temperament, and so on. Is there a big difference compared to before he became a vegetative state?"
