Chapter 637: Did I Really Kill My Mother?

Old Mrs. Lesser, as the matriarch of the family, demonstrated her aristocratic prowess. Alongside Eva Luther, she comforted the remaining guests and had Lily sent back to the bridal chamber. She continued the wedding banquet as the mistress of the Lesser family.

However, no matter how much she tried to salvage the situation, the Lesser family’s reputation had been thoroughly tarnished.

Even though Lily had married Andrew, her status in Andrew’s heart was evidently low. From now on, who would truly consider her Mrs. Lesser?

Quentin Lesser sat at the main table, leisurely drinking as if nothing had happened. His eyes gleamed with a cold, sinister smile...

At the hospital.

Nancy was rushed into the emergency room. After the doctors treated her, her condition stabilized.

She didn’t have any serious illness, just a surge of emotions and stress that caused her to faint.

Charlie sat by the bedside, gently brushing Nancy's hair from her face, his expression dark and terrifying.

Henry sat on the sofa, with Micheal Thompson beside him. Neither spoke, their eyes fixed on Nancy.

Andrew had arrived and, upon learning that Nancy was not in critical condition, felt a heavy weight lift from his heart. He stayed outside the room, waiting anxiously.

Two hours later, Nancy's eyelids fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes.

Charlie, who had been watching her closely, grabbed her hand in delight, “Nan, you’re awake?”

Henry and Micheal stood up immediately upon hearing this and quickly approached the bed.

When they saw Nancy’s eyes open, they both sighed in relief.

Nancy looked at them briefly before lowering her eyes, her expression forlorn and her demeanor sorrowful.

Seeing her like this, Charlie felt immense pain. He held her hand tightly and softly comforted her, “Nan, you know better than anyone how much Lily hates you. Don’t believe her words; she just wants to make you sad and upset you on purpose.”

Henry nodded expressionlessly, “Yes, sister, Lily has always been malicious. You can trust anyone’s words except hers.”

Micheal sighed gloomily, “This is all my fault. If I hadn’t forced her to answer my questions, she wouldn’t have lashed out and said such nonsense. It’s my fault for not thinking it through. Nancy, I’ll continue to investigate this matter. Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone slander your mother.”

Nancy still didn’t speak, her eyelashes trembled fiercely, and she turned her face away.

No one understood the sorrow in her heart, nor could anyone grasp her feelings at this moment.

Lily was her only clue. She genuinely didn’t know how much of what Lily said was true and how much was false. She was terrified… terrified that Lily might be telling the truth…

She couldn’t forgive herself if she had indeed caused her mother’s death!

Hearing the commotion inside, Andrew pushed open the door and quickly walked in.

Seeing that Nancy was awake, he hurried to her bedside, looking at her with concern, “Nan, are you feeling unwell anywhere?”

Hearing his voice, Nancy slowly turned her head to look at him. Seeing the worry on his face, her lips trembled violently, “Dad, tell me, is what Lily said true? Did I really kill my mother?”
