Chapter 642: Oh, That's Not Important!

Michael's eyes widened in surprise, "Smooth?"

Henry looked at him, confidently spouting nonsense, "Her father's last name is Lynn, and her mother's last name is Smooth, so she's called Smooth Lynn!"

"Is that so?"

Michael scratched his neck, incredulously frowning, "Smooth is actually a surname?"

"Tch..."

Henry scoffed dismissively, "Young Master Michael, you were born and raised abroad. How much do you know about Henriana's civilization?"

Michael blinked, clearly unsure how to answer this question.

"Heh..."

Henry gave him a disdainful look, "Henriana has a civilization spanning thousands of years, with dozens of ethnic groups. Each group has its own customs, and some even have their own languages, so Smooth isn't a strange name."

Michael nodded hesitantly, seeming to believe it. But then he suddenly remembered something and looked at Henry with a puzzled expression.

"But, I remember the last time I met her, she said an uncle of hers had the last name Smith."

Henry rolled his eyes in frustration, thinking that Young Master Michael was really hard to fool!

"Her father's last name is Lynn, her mother's last name is Smith. That uncle is her mother's brother. Isn't that normal?"

Michael's eyes widened in surprise, "But you just said her mother's last name was Smooth!"

"Oh, that's not important!"

Henry waved his hand impatiently, his eyes flashing with annoyance, "How much do you, a foreigner, know about Henriana's civilization? To explain it properly would take at least a year. You should first read the Historical Records ten times over to understand why."

Michael still seemed hesitant, "But isn't only the father's side is called 'uncle' or 'aunt'?"

Henry couldn't keep up the lie any longer, so he crossed his arms and made a show of not wanting to deal with Michael, "Believe it or not, it's up to you. It's funny, why would I lie to you about this?"

Michael awkwardly touched his nose, realizing that although his roots were in Henriana, he knew nothing about its civilization. Moreover, he had heard his grandfather say that Henriana's five thousand years of civilization were not something one could delve into in a short time.

Just the surnames alone—he had seen many of his grandfather's and father's friends with names that were far stranger than Smooth.

So, the surname Smooth didn't seem that odd after all.

"Hehe, okay."

He chuckled mischievously, then stood up and straightened his clothes before walking over to Linda with a serious demeanor.

Linda and Nancy were happily chatting, so he didn't want to interrupt them abruptly. Instead, he patiently waited on the side. Fortunately, Linda noticed him standing there for a while, his gaze fixed on her, and she turned to look at him in surprise.

"Young Master Michael, do you need something?"

Michael immediately stood at attention, adopting a gentlemanly posture. To leave a better impression on Linda, he even deliberately softened his voice.

"Hehe, Miss Smooth, hello. Although we've met a few times..."

Linda's eyes widened suddenly, and she pointed at her nose, asking him, "Are you talking to me?"

Michael smiled very gentlemanly, even making his movements appear elegant, "Yes, they've been calling you Linda, but we've only met a few times, so it's not appropriate for me to be too familiar. But if you don't mind, I can call you that too..."
