Chapter 654: Making My Little Heart Pound…

Knowing there was a surprise, Linda ate particularly fast, and even her usually non-stop babbling mouth finally quieted down.

As soon as she finished, she sat in her chair like a well-behaved child, her big, watery eyes staring at Charlie. "Mr. Firth, we're done eating. What's the surprise?"

"Hehe..."

Charlie and Nancy exchanged a smile, then Charlie stood up gracefully. "Come on, I'll take you to see the surprise."

"It's not at home?"

Linda tilted her head slightly, and as she stood up, her hand naturally grabbed Henry's right hand. "Henry, let's go see the surprise together!"

Henry reflexively wanted to withdraw his hand, but as soon as he moved, his hand stiffened because he saw Linda's big eyes suddenly darken.

"Uh..."

He smiled awkwardly and extended his left hand. "I've never held anyone's hand before, my right hand has a reflex. You... hold my left hand, it doesn't have one."

"Hee hee..."

Linda laughed happily. "Alright!"

She walked around to Henry's left side, then held his left hand and walked cheerfully towards the outside.

Henry's face turned red silently from the moment her fingers touched his hand, and his entire left arm stiffened, with a fine layer of sweat forming in his palm.

Linda swung his hand back and forth. "Henry, what do you think Mr. Firth's surprise is?"

Henry instinctively shook his head. "I don't know."

Linda pouted. "Yeah, Mr. Firth likes to be mysterious. He won't tell us directly, making my little heart pound..."

As she said this, she tilted her head and looked at Henry. "I guess Nan likes this kind of romantic flair? Always giving surprises, acting mysterious. What do you think?"

Henry blinked and nodded dully. "Maybe."

"Ugh..."

Linda pouted in frustration. "Henry, why are you so stingy with words? I see you talk a lot when you're with your two brothers. Why do you only say two or three words to me? Don't you want to talk to me?"

Henry shook his head. "No... it's not that."

"Then what is it?"

Linda interlaced her fingers with Henry's, suddenly squeezing, trying to get more expressions and words out of him. But Henry, trained in martial arts, had reflexes to any potential threat.

So, as soon as she squeezed, Henry's fingers instantly exerted force...

"Ouch..."

Linda's face scrunched up in pain. "It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!"

Henry was startled and quickly let go of her hand. Seeing Linda's brows knit tightly in pain, he was extremely anxious. "Linda, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. You squeezed me, and my hand reflexively responded. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Does it hurt a lot?"

Linda pouted, her eyes welling up with tears, and replied with a pitiful "Mm."

Henry bit his lip in self-reproach. "What should I do? Should I apply some medicine for you?"

Linda, still pouting, shook her head pitifully.

Then she raised her beautiful hand to Henry's mouth, her tear-filled eyes glistening. "Blow on it for me, it'll stop hurting if you blow on it."
