First of all, with his current financial resources, it wasn't feasible.
Charlie didn't notice the dimness that flashed in Henry's eyes and waved to them with a smile. "Come on, get in the car, let's tour the estate."
"Yay, yay…"
Linda cheered excitedly, "Let's tour the estate!"
The four of them got into the car, with Charlie and Nancy sitting in one row and Linda and Henry sitting in the row behind them.
Nancy's eyes remained curious, looking left and right. Charlie explained the scenery to her and asked if she had any other ideas.
Linda's little mouth began to chatter.
"Wow! I love that pavilion!"
"Mr. Firth, are there fish in the lake? Can we go fishing?"
"Oh my gosh... there's even a dedicated cat house and dog kennel over there. This is too thoughtful!"
"Hahaha, I love this place so much!"
Every time Henry heard her say she liked something, he mentally noted it down, but the more he noted, the more pressured he felt.
Though Nancy and Charlie supported him, those were not his own achievements. To gain Linda's parents' approval and ensure her happiness, he needed to become strong on his own. This was something Nancy had always taught him.
His hands clenched tighter, and his determination grew stronger!
After touring the estate, Nancy and Linda were both delighted. The sightseeing cart stopped outside a courtyard, and Charlie jumped out, turning around to lift Nancy out of the car.
He pointed to the courtyard behind him, his face full of joy. "Nan, this is the home I’ve built for you!"
The word "home" held special significance for Nancy. Since Andrew's accident, she hadn’t had a home.
The villa they had been staying in was nice, but Charlie had told her it was only temporary. This place, he told her, was her home!
"Honey…"
Nancy’s eyes reddened instantly, and even the tip of her nose turned red. "You're so good to me!"
"Heh…"
Charlie chuckled softly, gently holding her in his arms. "Nan, I know you like having lots of family around and a homey atmosphere, so I'll bring Grandpa, Uncle, Aunt, and everyone to live with us."
Linda's eyes widened in surprise. "Huh? So many people living together?"
Charlie glanced at her with a smile. "Yes, all those people living in this estate, like the Lesser family, all living in one place but each with their own independent courtyard. They don't interfere with each other but can still look out for one another."
"Oh, I see!"
Linda nodded. "I think that’s great. I'll talk to my parents and see if they want to build a similar estate. Hehe... then you all can come to my place to play, and we'll have enough room for everyone."
Charlie smiled and nodded. "Alright, Linda, Henry, I've allocated half of the courtyards here for my family. The other half you can choose from. From now on, this is your home too!"
At this point, he looked specifically at Henry. "Henry, I’ve said it before, Nan's home is your home. Don’t feel any burden. Take Linda and go pick out your courtyard."
"Okay, thank you, brother-in-law."
Henry nodded, taking Linda's hand and getting back into the sightseeing cart to choose their own courtyard...
