Chapter 668: There's Something Else Down Here!

Nancy held her breath, immediately turning to look.

Although she had no memories of her biological mother, after experiencing Lily Dench’s abuse and Andrew Lesser’s amnesia, her feelings towards her mother had changed.

She truly wanted to know, if her mother hadn’t passed away, would she have grown up being loved and cherished by her?

Step by step, Nancy walked towards the tombstone. Her legs felt like they were filled with lead. She was nervous, and a bit lost, her emotions boiling like a pot of hot stew, bubbling uncontrollably.

The short distance took her a full two minutes to cross. Finally, she stood beside the tomb, taking a deep breath before looking inside.

Inside, there was indeed an urn. Just by looking, one could tell it wasn’t an ordinary one. Although it wasn’t made of white jade, despite the many years, it only had a layer of dust without much damage.

She placed her hands on her chest, took a deep breath, and said, “Mom, I’m Nan. I’m sorry I’m late. I want to take you to Liverton so I can visit you more often. Please don’t blame me.”

After murmuring these words, she bent down, carefully picking up the urn.

Though the urn wasn’t light, Henry Swinton, Charlie, and the others didn’t help her due to customs. Besides the children, no one else could touch it, especially when relocating the urn; it had to be done by the children.

Nancy struggled a bit to lift it, but once she held it in her arms, it was much better. She took a deep breath, looking down at the urn, feeling a mix of emotions.

“Huh!”

Suddenly, Henry’s surprised voice rang out, “Sis, there’s something else down here!”

“What?”

Nancy was shocked. She quickly handed the urn to Henry.

Henry, “…”

Well, I’m your brother, though not by blood, but closer than a biological brother, so I can call you mom too. Mom, don’t blame me, don’t blame me.

Nancy bent down, taking out the item from the bottom. After dusting it off, she was even more astonished.

“It seems to be a notebook. What’s more surprising is that it’s sealed in a plastic bag and hasn’t been corroded at all. Huh… What does this mean?”

Old Master Firth couldn’t wait, “Nan, take the notebook out and have a look!”

“Okay.”

Nancy carefully opened the plastic bag and took out the notebook inside. She opened the first page, her eyes widening in disbelief as she looked at Charlie, “It’s my mother’s diary!”

Charlie smiled with relief, “That’s wonderful, Nan. Even though you never met your mother, through her diary, you can learn a lot about her and what happened in her life.”

“Mm-hmm!”

Nancy’s eyes filled with tears of joy. For an orphan who didn’t know who her parents were, learning about her mother was a tremendous blessing!

Especially after what Lily said, Nancy really wanted to know if it was true. This notebook, preserved in Rose Dench’s grave, must have been very important to her.

Nancy was already a bit impatient.

But she maintained her composure, “I’ll put this aside for now. Let’s go find his brother and get some answers first.”
