Chapter 675: Where Are You?

Nancy's brow furrowed. What was going on with this Swinton… Andrew?

Rose had made things so clear to him, yet he kept pestering her. This was too much.

She gritted her teeth and kept reading.

“He’s gone! He’s disappeared! I can’t find him anywhere! Boo hoo… What did I do wrong for him to hide from me?”

“Still no news of him today. He’s been missing for a whole month. Swinton comforted me, saying he might have gone home to discuss marriage with his parents, but it’s been a month with no word. I feel… he took what he wanted from me and abandoned me…”

“I’m pregnant… I have his child in my belly, but… where is he? If he knew I was pregnant, would he come find me?”

“I don’t know when Swinton and my sister got together, but my sister is pregnant too. I wish them well, but my beloved, where are you?”

Nancy’s heart ached intensely as she read this.

What exactly happened back then?

Why did that man suddenly disappear?

She raised her hand to wipe her face, surprised to find it covered in tears she hadn’t noticed.

Actually, she could tell that both Rose and that “he” were very pure-hearted and innocent at the time. Otherwise, that man wouldn’t have blushed just from touching Rose’s hand.

Nancy became even more curious about the past and couldn’t help but keep reading.

“My belly is getting bigger. I had to quit my job. Everyone advised me to abort the child, but I still held onto a shred of hope that he would come back to find me!”

“Living off my savings, there’s not much left. Once the baby is born, I’ll go back to work. No matter what others say, I’m determined to raise my child!”

“The doctor said I’m malnourished and shouldn’t have the baby, or it might be premature. How could I bear to kill my own flesh and blood? No one knows I love 'him' more than I love him.”

Nancy couldn’t control her emotions any longer and cried out loud, covering her mouth.

She knew the first “him” referred to herself.

Rose took such a huge risk to give birth to her, showing how deep her love was.

If Rose hadn’t died, Nancy would have been the happiest child in the world.

Mom…

For the first time, Nancy felt a deeper connection to the word "mother," forming a vivid image of her mother in her mind.

Recalling Lily’s words, it was likely that giving birth to her led to Rose’s death. Nancy felt that no one in the world could love her more than Rose, a love exchanged with life itself.

“Boo hoo…”

Nancy cried, her shoulders shaking violently, her eyes blurred with tears, making it impossible to continue reading the diary.

Even without reading, she knew that Rose waited until the end of her life without ever seeing the person she loved again.

Her biological father had indeed abandoned her and her mother!

Suddenly, the door opened from the outside. Charlie saw Nancy’s trembling shoulders, quickly shut the door, and rushed to her side.

“Nan, what’s wrong?”

Hearing his concerned voice, Nancy’s emotional defenses collapsed. She turned and threw herself into his arms, “Charlie…”
