Chapter 680: I'm Really Curious, Who Exactly Is He?

Charlie chuckled, propping himself up with his hands and leaning against the headboard. Then he beckoned to her, "Come up."

Nancy couldn't help but think that his gesture looked like he was calling a puppy. However, after what had just happened, she wasn't angry anymore. In fact, she felt a bit mischievous and wanted to tease him. So she immediately jumped onto the bed and snuggled into Charlie's arms obediently.

Charlie wrapped his arms around her, about to speak, when Nancy suddenly turned her head, imitated a puppy's bark, and bit his thin lips.

Their eyes met, one surprised, the other filled with amusement.

Nancy bit down slightly on his lip and then backed away with a smile, "Don't think I don't have a temper! If you call me like a puppy again, I'll bite you!"

Charlie couldn't help but laugh, reaching out to ruffle her dark hair, "Alright, enough playing, let's get serious."

Nancy's expression turned serious instantly, "What do you want to say?"

Her expression made it clear that if Charlie said one more bad thing about Rose, she would lose her temper again.

Charlie chuckled softly and shook his head helplessly, "Nan, haven't you always wanted to know who your father is? Tomorrow, I'll take you to find the art school where your mother once worked. Even if the school is gone, we can see if we can find anyone related to it."

Such as the principal or Rose's former colleagues.

Seeing how dedicated he was to helping her, Nancy felt a pang of guilt for her previous pettiness.

She shouldn't have gotten mad at him.

She pouted and lowered her eyes, "Honey, I'm sorry..."

Charlie knew what she was going to say and pulled her into his arms, "It's not your fault. You've been through a lot lately, and seeing your mother's diary, especially the hardships she endured for you, it's understandable that you can't accept anyone saying anything bad about her."

As he spoke, he lowered his head and pressed his thin lips firmly against her dark hair, "It was inconsiderate of me. I didn't take your feelings into account."

Nancy hugged his arm tightly, nestled in his embrace, feeling as if the world was whole again, filled with a sense of happiness.

"I finally understand why Lily said those things about my mother that day. It turns out she had been chasing after Andrew all along. No wonder she resented my mother so much. But I still don't understand why Andrew, who clearly didn't like her, married her and had Vivian Lesser."

Charlie's chin gently rested on Nancy's head. Their intimate conversation gave off a feeling of tranquility and peace.

He liked it very much and was even more captivated...

"Lily and Andrew definitely won't tell the truth, but Nan, I suspect Andrew didn't actually lose his memory this time."

Nancy couldn't wait to respond, "But he was in a vegetative state for three years, that's undeniable!"

Charlie didn't disagree, "Yes, unless he had already assumed the identity of the eldest son of the Lesser family at that time. Otherwise, the hospital wouldn't have helped him cover it up."

"Exactly, exactly."

Nancy was pleased that he didn't refute her, "So, I actually believe he lost his memory. It's just that the person who hired Mr. Strong to pay weekly tributes to my mother is so mysterious. I'm really curious, who exactly is he!"
