Chapter 695: Michael Thompson's Visit

Alexander chuckled, a meaningful smile spreading across his face, "I don't need to intervene. Someone has already made sure that the wedding won't proceed smoothly."

Nancy returned home and, without hiding anything from Charlie, told him everything that had happened today.

After listening, Charlie frowned slightly, "Nancy, the events from back then are shrouded in mystery. It seems only Lily and Andrew know the real truth, but they..."

They would never reveal it!

How could Nancy not understand this?

Moreover, Nancy vaguely felt that there was a conspiracy targeting her mother back then!

At that moment, Charlie's phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and saw that it was a call from the gatekeeper.

The estate had been rebuilt, and the Firth family had moved from City Nustin to Liverton, so Nancy, Charlie, and the others had also moved in a week earlier.

The current estate was comparable to the Lesser family's. Anyone who wished to visit would be stopped at the main gate and would have to be announced by the gatekeeper before being allowed in with the Firth family's permission.

Charlie put the phone to his ear, and the gatekeeper's respectful voice came through the receiver, "Mr. Firth, Michael from the Thompson family is here to visit."

Charlie glanced at Nancy, "Nancy, Michael is here."

Hearing this name, a glimmer flashed in Nancy's eyes, and she smiled slightly, "He's come at the right time. Let's hear what news he brings."

Half an hour later, Michael walked in.

As he walked, he looked around, deeply impressed by the grandeur of the estate.

"My goodness! Nancy, Mr. Firth, your estate is much more magnificent than the Lesser family's, and you've got treasures everywhere. Aren't you afraid of being robbed?"

His teasing tone made it sound as if he had a close relationship with Nancy and Charlie.

Nancy and Charlie sat on the sofa, watching him wander around like a country bumpkin in a grand garden, paying him no attention.

After another round of looking, Michael realized Nancy and Charlie were ignoring him. He frowned, walked over, and sat down opposite them, acting as if he were the master of the house.

"Hey!"

He raised his chin at Nancy and Charlie in annoyance, "What's wrong with you two? I'm a guest, after all. Aren't you going to greet me?"

Nancy's expression remained calm, showing no emotion, "Young Master Michael, you must be here because the Thompson family has some answers for us, right?"

"Well..."

Michael gave an awkward laugh, unsure of what to say, his eyes shifting back and forth between Nancy and Charlie, feeling quite frustrated.

Thinking about her scoundrel of a father, Nancy had no patience for him, "Spit it out if you have something to say, or leave if you don't!"

"Hey..."

Michael was bewildered, tilting his head at Nancy, "What's with you? Bad mood? You've never treated me like this before."

Charlie, also losing patience, added, "Young Master Michael, we're busy preparing for the wedding and don't have time to waste here with you."

"Oh, I see..."

Michael, aware that Nancy and Charlie had been busy with wedding preparations, didn't take Nancy's attitude to heart since he had also received an invitation.
