Chapter 697: There's No Such Person in the Thompson Family?

Charlie was the first to react, "There's no one by that name in the Thompson family?"

"No, there isn’t!"

Micheal immediately waved his hand. "Although we have plenty of uncles and relatives, I know all their names, and none of them are called Hugh!"

Charlie turned to Nancy, "Nan, could Amelia have lied to you?"

Nancy seriously thought about her meeting with Amelia today, and she shook her head. "I don’t think Amelia would lie to me. Besides, she has no reason to."

She frowned slightly in frustration. "I also got the feeling that Amelia is looking for him too. Maybe she told me this to use me to find him. So, I don’t think she’s lying."

Even Charlie was a bit puzzled now.

They had finally made progress, learning that Nancy's biological father was named Hugh, but Micheal insisted that no such person existed in the Thompson family.

Charlie hesitated. "Could it be that Hugh isn’t from the Thompson family?"

"No, that's not it…"

Micheal grew anxious. "Nancy, Mr. Firth, my grandpa said that Nancy is definitely part of the Thompson family. We just haven’t found her biological father yet. Don’t dismiss this just because of what someone else said."

His grandpa was waiting at home for news, and the entire Thompson family was ready for Nancy to return and acknowledge her roots.

Charlie gave him a cold look and squeezed Nancy’s hand tightly. "Nan, is it possible that Hugh is just an alias and not his real name?"

"Huh?"

Micheal paused, and quickly became excited. "That’s possible! Very possible! I’m certain that Nancy is part of the Thompson family, so Hugh must be using a fake name…"

Before he could finish his sentence, Nancy suddenly exploded in anger. "Oh, really? He was with my mother and didn’t even dare reveal his real name. That’s his sincerity? What a complete scumbag! He’s the worst of the worst!"

"Uh… well…"

Micheal didn’t understand why Nancy was so furious, but he got the message loud and clear—Nancy had a lot of resentment toward this biological father.

He began to panic. If Nancy harbored hatred toward this so-called Hugh and refused to return to the Thompson family, the entire family would be in an uproar!

"Nancy, wait, we haven’t found him yet. Don’t jump to conclusions so quickly. How about this—I’ll go back and ask Grandpa if anyone has ever used the name Hugh."

Truthfully, Micheal was also at a loss. All of the uncles and relatives had already taken the paternity test, and they hadn’t found this person. He had no idea why Grandpa was so certain that Nancy belonged to the Thompson family.

This task was turning out to be much more difficult than he’d expected.

Nancy didn’t want to discuss this with Micheal any further. After all, if he didn’t even know who Hugh was, what was the point of continuing the conversation?

There was nothing more to talk about.

She stood up and bluntly showed him the door. "Young Master Micheal, we’re busy. Please come back when you’ve figured everything out. See yourself out."

Micheal gave Nancy a dejected look before leaving in frustration.

As soon as he got home, he opened his laptop and urgently called Arthur Thompson via video.

Arthur’s face had barely appeared on the screen when Micheal hurriedly asked, "Grandpa! Is there anyone in the Thompson family named Hugh Thompson?"
