Chapter 701: Let Go of That!

On the cart, there was an array of items, including a bright red wedding quilt and rare exotic flowers. But what enraged Vivian the most was the presence of the Veil of Starlight Painting!

That was the heirloom of the the Lesser family!

Shouldn't it belong to her?

Andrew, however, ignored them and waved at the members of the Firth family standing by the door. "Come over, please. This is the dowry I've prepared for Nan. Could you help move these things inside?"

"Sure thing, Mr. Lesser."

The Firth family members immediately started unloading the items, moving them one by one from the cart.

Vivian's eyes turned red with jealousy, especially when she saw the tightly wrapped Veil of Starlight Painting being carried down by the Firth family members. Her jealousy boiled over, rage surging up from her feet.

"No! Let go of that right now!"

She rushed forward like a madwoman, grabbing one side of the Veil of Starlight Painting, trying to yank it towards herself.

Realizing she couldn't manage on her own, she called for help, "Taylor, what are you standing there for? The Veil of Starlight Painting can't go to Nancy!"

Taylor, who had also coveted the painting for a long time, quickly ran over to help, joining Vivian in the tug-of-war over the painting.

Seeing this, the Firth family members were furious and turned to Andrew, asking, "Mr. Lesser, what’s going on here?"

Vivian yelled in frustration, "What do you mean 'what's going on'? This painting is the Lesser family's heirloom! Why should it go to Nancy? Let go of it now!"

Andrew immediately stepped forward. "Vivian, Taylor, let go! Grandpa and Grandma have already agreed to this!"

"That doesn't matter!"

Vivian was utterly aggrieved, her eyes instantly welling with tears. They fell rapidly as she cried, "When I got married, Grandpa and Grandma didn’t give me anything valuable. So why does Nancy get the heirloom for her wedding?"

Their tugging and pulling soon caught the attention of the nearby crowd.

Charlie had invited many guests, and this happened to be the time when a large number of them were arriving. Seeing such a commotion at the door, many people stopped entering and instead stayed outside to watch the drama unfold.

"What’s going on? What are Vivian and the others fighting over?"

"They say it's a dowry prepared for Nancy by the Lesser family, and one of the items is the Veil of Starlight Painting, the Lesser family heirloom. Apparently, Vivian and Taylor don’t want to part with it, so they’re trying to take it back."

"What!? The Veil of Starlight Painting? The Lesser family is giving that to Nancy?"

"Exactly, otherwise, why would there be such a fuss?"

"Wow, Nancy must be really clever! She’s not even a Lesser by blood, yet she managed to get the Lesser family elders to willingly give her their heirloom."

"I agree, Nancy’s clearly got some deep strategies. Look at poor Vivian and Taylor; they’re crying their eyes out. If I were Nancy, I wouldn't have the face to accept it anymore."

As more onlookers gathered, Andrew, seeing the situation spiraling out of control, grabbed Vivian's arm and lowered his voice. "Vivian, stop it! Nan is getting married today. If you keep making a scene, it won’t look good."

"Why should I care how she looks!?"

Vivian, sobbing uncontrollably, clung tightly to the Veil of Starlight Painting, refusing to let go. "This is the Lesser family's property, and I’m not giving it to her!"

Andrew’s temple throbbed in frustration. Just as he was about to reprimand Vivian, Quentin's voice came from the side.

"Brother, since when did Mom and Dad decide to give this painting to Nancy as part of her dowry?"

Andrew turned to see Quentin standing there with a mocking smile. "And who is Nancy, anyway? Is she a Lesser? Why does she deserve the Lesser family heirloom? Or… is this the price she asked for when she saved Dad?"
