Nancy shook her head immediately. "That must be a money pit. I’m not going!"
“Nan, come on, please…”
Linda jumped off the rocking chair and ran over to grab Nancy’s hand, pouting and pleading. “Let’s just go have a look. I don’t even know how much money we’ll end up spending. I’ve just heard it’s expensive, but you don’t have to buy anything! We can just look around, okay?”
Linda shook Nancy’s arm so vigorously that she was starting to feel dizzy.
Pouting and batting her eyes dramatically, Linda whined, “Nan, you know you’re my favorite person in the whole world…”
Nancy, still trying to hold on to her reason, raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t Henry supposed to be your favorite?”
“Oh please, men are just for carrying on the family name. Sisters are real love!”
“Alright, alright, that’s enough nonsense.”
If Henry heard that, wouldn’t he be heartbroken?
Unable to resist any longer, Nancy sighed and stood up. “Fine, let’s go. I guess I’ll check it out too.”
“Hahaha…”
Linda nearly jumped for joy. “I knew you were the best, Nan!”
Just then, Henry walked in from outside and noticed the signed documents on the table. “Sis, you’ve signed everything?”
“Mm-hmm.”
Nancy barely had time to nod as Linda dragged her away, hurriedly calling back to Henry.
Henry watched them walk away, curiosity bubbling up inside him. “Are you going somewhere?”
“Yeah, we’re going out for fun,”
Linda replied, turning to look at him. “Wanna come with us?”
Henry, who had wanted to talk to Nancy about what Charlie had said, didn’t refuse and followed them out.
Linda gave Nancy the address, and Nancy drove, with the three of them excitedly heading out.
I heard it's really fun over there, and even the snacks are especially delicious. Nan, we don't have places like that for leisure here in our country. Once you get there, you'll see—it definitely won't disappoint you.
Linda’s praise was so over the top that Nancy and Henry could only roll their eyes. It was just a recreational spot—how amazing could it be?
But when they saw the towering five-story pagoda, both of them were stunned.
“This… is the place?”
“Yep! Let’s go in!”
Linda, holding Henry with one hand and linking arms with Nancy with the other, happily dragged them through the entrance.
The outside was impressive enough, but stepping inside, Nancy finally understood the true meaning of “awe.”
The five-story pagoda was open in the center, so standing at the bottom, they could see all the way up through every level.
The first floor was filled with dazzling displays of gold and silver jewelry, enough to blind them. The second floor featured jade ornaments, the likes of which they’d never seen before!
They didn’t even need to look further up—the sheer brilliance of what they had seen so far was overwhelming. Not to mention the hostesses in uniforms, each more beautiful than the last, all over 5'7" tall, with slender figures and gorgeous faces. They moved gracefully through the space, making it feel like walking through a living painting.
“Oh my God…”
Nancy couldn’t help but click her tongue. “Tsk tsk tsk, just the décor here must have cost a fortune!”
Linda, who was also seeing this for the first time, had wide, sparkling eyes. “Yeah, Nan, do you think even the celebrities in showbiz look this good? This place is… just stunning!”
“Excuse me, is there anything I can assist you with?”
Seeing their amazed expressions, a server approached them. Despite their obvious awe, the server didn’t treat them like outsiders, speaking softly and politely, which immediately raised their opinion of the place.
