Chapter 728: You’re Not Short on Money!

Deep breaths. More deep breaths. Zack was so furious at Nancy that his head felt like it was spinning, yet he still raised his paddle again.

Nancy suddenly burst into laughter.

"Haha… you’d better think this through. First, I’m not short on cash. Whatever you bid, I’ll just add another million. Second, if you’re bluffing and intentionally driving up the price without the money to back it up, every extra cent I spend today will be added to your tab. So, think carefully before you bid—no need to rush."

Zack’s face turned bright red at her words.

While he was wealthy, spending a hundred million dollars on a bracelet was beyond what he could stomach.

More importantly, Nancy was backed by the Firth family. Offending her over a bracelet wasn’t exactly a smart move.

After a long moment of deliberation, he finally, reluctantly, lowered his hand.

Still, his frustration lingered. He glanced upward at Emily, who stood beside Nancy.

His lips curled into a sinister smile, one that sent a shiver down Emily’s spine the moment their eyes met. She instinctively stepped back, trembling.

Nancy, quick to notice Emily’s reaction, turned her gaze to Zack. Her expression darkened.

Seeing no further bids, the auctioneer banged his gavel to finalize the sale.

Before the auction concluded, a young woman carrying a jewelry box entered the room.

"Miss Nancy, here is the Phoenix Bracelet you successfully bid on."

Nancy didn’t reach out for it. Instead, she tilted her head toward Emily.

Emily, her eyes glistening with gratitude, accepted the box. Though she had said earlier that spending so much money wasn’t worth it, the moment the radiant Phoenix Bracelet landed in her hands, her emotions surged, and her eyes welled up with tears once more.

"Nancy, thank you. I’ll repay you for the money spent on this."

"It’s nothing."

Nancy patted Emily’s hand generously. "When you sold me that piece of land, I got a great deal. A hundred million is a drop in the bucket for me, but for you, it’s a family heirloom for your child and a way to fulfill your husband’s last wish. I think it’s worth every penny."

Ashley and the young woman holding the box exchanged glances, both looking at Nancy with newfound admiration.

When Arthur Thompson had initially appointed Nancy to her position within the Thompson family, many had been skeptical.

After all, she was a girl raised in an ordinary household—what could she possibly know about business or leadership?

Some even assumed she would grovel for the Thompson family’s favor at the sight of a mere million dollars.

But today, Nancy’s bold display of wealth made it abundantly clear to everyone: she wasn’t short on cash.

More importantly, her generosity and kindness toward her friends earned her their deepest respect.

Emily, overwhelmed with gratitude, couldn’t find the right words. Instead, she threw her arms around Nancy in a tight hug.

"Nancy, thank you. Truly, thank you."

"Alright, the auction is still going on. Let’s see if there’s anything else you like. If there is, bid for it. We’re not short on money."

"Pfft…"

Emily, who had been on the verge of tears, couldn’t help but burst out laughing at Nancy’s casual remark.

Standing in the back, Henry rolled his eyes. "Nancy, the last time your husband told you to go shopping, you bought a dress for a few hundred bucks. When he found out, he had custom dresses made for you. I’m only now realizing—you’re really not short on money!"
