Chapter 729: Trying To Trick Me Into Spending Again?

Henry’s sarcastic remark left Nancy feeling a little awkward.

Emily, however, had learned something new: Nancy might be thrifty with herself, but when it came to her friends, she spared no expense.

"Nancy, I’ll always remember your kindness."

Nancy gave Henry a helpless glance. Her little brother certainly knew how to throw her under the bus.

After that, Nancy didn’t bid on anything else. There wasn’t anything she particularly wanted, and besides, Old Master Firth’s collection was filled with rare and fascinating antiques far superior to anything here. These items simply didn’t interest her.

Without her participating, the excitement among the audience dwindled. Who wouldn’t want to watch wealthy elites clash and bid fiercely?

When the auction finally ended, Nancy went to settle her payment. On the way, she ran into Vivian.

Vivian shot her a resentful glare before quickly paying her own bill.

After Nancy completed her payment, Ashley intercepted her.

"Miss Nancy, we have a set of rouge that complements the one you tried to bid on earlier. It’s a complete collection of twelve boxes, each with a unique fragrance—"

Before Ashley could finish, Nancy frowned and interrupted, "I’m not buying it!"

What a joke! Even if it were just five hundred dollars per box, twelve boxes would cost six thousand dollars! Spending six thousand dollars on rouge? That would be painful!

Ashley was momentarily stunned but quickly broke into a laugh. "Miss Nancy, you misunderstood. It’s not for sale—it’s a complimentary gift for purchases over a hundred million."

"A gift?"

Nancy raised an eyebrow and reached out to accept it. "Well… thank you."

If it’s free, why not take it?

Nearby, Vivian, who had stayed back to watch the show, was speechless.

She had spent fifteen thousand dollars on a single box of rouge, and now Nancy was being handed twelve boxes for free, as if they were worthless.

Instantly, the box of rouge in Vivian’s hand didn’t seem quite so fragrant anymore.

Unaware of Vivian’s fiery glare, Nancy casually opened the exquisite packaging and took out two boxes, handing them to Emily. "Emily, these are complimentary. Here, take two."

After giving Emily her share, she turned to Linda. "Linda, if you like them, feel free to pick whichever ones you want when we get back. No need to hold back."

Linda happily looped her arm through Nancy’s. "Nancy, you’re the best!"

Vivian: "…"

She suddenly had the urge to throw her box away.

Ashley, seeing how delighted Nancy and her friends were, couldn’t help but smile along. "By the way, Miss Nancy, after the auction, there’s a jade gambling event on the fourth floor. Are you interested in joining?"

"Jade gambling?"

Nancy shoved the remaining rouge into Henry’s hands and snorted. "Trying to trick me into spending more money again?"

She had just spent 101 million dollars—her heart was still bleeding! If it hadn’t been for Emily’s tearful gratitude, Nancy might have been tempted to bang her head against the wall.

Ashley quickly waved her hands in defense. "Oh no, not at all! Jade gambling is all about luck. If you’re lucky, you could make a fortune overnight."

Nancy gave her a side glance. "And if you’re unlucky, you could lose everything."

Ashley was left speechless, but Linda perked up with interest.

"Nancy, jade gambling sounds fun! I’ve seen small-scale events like this on Antique Street before, but this one must be on a much grander scale. Let’s go take a look! We don’t have to spend money—just watch others gamble. What do you say?"
