Chapter 734: Bigger Stones, Bigger Luck?

Nancy followed Zack’s pointing finger and immediately spotted the stones.

Well, well, this guy was truly flaunting his wealth.

The two raw jade stones were worth several million dollars each, larger in diameter than his own round belly.

"Hah…"

She let out a light laugh. "So, you’re only picking the big ones? What, are bigger stones supposed to hold bigger miracles?"

Zack patted his stomach with a smug grin. "If even one of these turns out to be top-grade jade, Nancy, you wouldn’t win even if you bought every other stone here!"

"Don’t worry."

Nancy clapped him on the shoulder with a smile. "I’m not stupid enough to only pick the biggest ones. Take your time—I’ll be over there."

With that, she led Linda and the others away.

Linda looked concerned. "Nancy, are you sure about this? If you lose, Emily will have to go to dinner with him."

Emily took a deep breath, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of dining with Zack, but she didn’t want to put too much pressure on Nancy.

"It’s fine, Nancy. Just enjoy yourself—don’t stress about the result. And even if I have to go to dinner, you’ll both come with me, right?"

"Oh, come on…"

Nancy shot them a playful glare. "We haven’t even started yet, and you’re already boosting his confidence while doubting me? Jade gambling is just that—a gamble. Nobody here has X-ray vision, so it’s all about luck. And I don’t think my luck is worse than his!"

Linda looped her arm through Nancy’s with a grin. "Exactly! Nancy’s luck is unbeatable. Just pick any random stone, and you’ll crush that old man!"

Nancy didn’t stroll aimlessly. At each display, she carefully studied the raw stones, scrutinizing their textures and patterns. However, even after an hour, she hadn’t made a purchase.

Ashley began to grow anxious. "Miss Nancy, should I… maybe ask a jade appraiser for advice?"

"Absolutely not!"

Nancy raised a hand to stop her. "Jade gambling is about the thrill. What’s the point if you cheat?"

Besides, even the best jade appraisers weren’t infallible.

While they were experts and more knowledgeable than the average person, they could still make mistakes. A stone they deemed promising could turn out worthless.

Nancy was firm about sticking to her principles—she would rely on her own judgment.

Linda didn’t rush her and instead began chatting with Emily.

"Emily, why does Zack keep targeting you?"

Emily glanced at the Phoenix Bracelet now adorning her wrist, her fingers lightly brushing against it. A trace of embarrassment crossed her face.

"Uh… he… I…"

Her hesitant reply only fueled Linda’s curiosity, and her wide, sparkling eyes lit up with excitement. "Come on, Emily, spill it!"

Emily coughed lightly, trying to mask her discomfort. "He’s had his eye on me for years. Even when my husband was alive, Zack was always watching me like a predator. Now that my husband has passed, he’s become even more brazen, constantly harassing me."

She lifted her wrist, showing them the Phoenix Bracelet. "Today, he was willing to spend a fortune on this bracelet just so he could use it to blackmail me into submission."

"What?! My god!"

Linda’s exclamation echoed in the room. "That’s disgusting! What a shameless bastard!"

It seemed no insult could adequately capture just how vile Zack was.
