"Okay, I'll be down soon," Freya replied. She got out of bed, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and changed into a light yellow dress before making her way downstairs.
As she descended the stairs, Frederick, with respect, said, "Mrs. Austin, please have breakfast before getting your hair done."
Freya nodded and glanced towards the living room, where a female hairstylist sat on the sofa, smiling politely at her.
Freya smiled back and headed to the dining room to have breakfast before going to the front yard to cut her hair.
Freya had naturally thick and shiny hair, but some had been damaged by the hairdryer and felt rough to the touch.
Bradley had advised her to fix her hair, so the hairstylist only did a quick touch-up without cutting it short.
Once her hair was done, Freya informed Frederick that she was going out. She had promised Abby that she would attend the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at the pharmacy.
"Mrs. Austin, Mr. Austin would prefer if you stayed at the estate for the next few days and didn't go out," Frederick hesitated, expressing Bradley's concerns.
Freya furrowed her brow and pretended to be unhappy. "Why? I just want to go for a walk."
She was well aware of the reason why Bradley didn't want her to go out, as he was worried that Ethan might seek revenge on her.
However, she had no choice but to go out today. It was already nine o'clock, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was scheduled to start at ten. Time was running out.
Just as Freya contemplated, her phone suddenly vibrated, indicating a new message. She guessed it was Abby reminding her.
"This was Mr. Austin's instruction. He said it is unsafe for you to go out," Frederick explained.
Freya pursed her lips and said, "So, what if I can get Mr. Austin’s permission?"
"Then you can go out." Frederick nodded.
Everyone in the Royal Garden Mansion followed Bradley's orders without question. If he said something, no one dared to disobey.
"In that case, I'll call Mr. Austin and inform him that I want to go out," Freya dialed Bradley's phone number.
The phone rang for quite sometime before someone answered.
"Mr. Austin, I want..." Freya couldn't wait to speak.
On the other end, there was a burst of laughter. "You must be Mrs. Austin, am I right?"
Freya was taken aback and started to doubt if she had dialed the wrong number.
She double-checked the number and confirmed it was Bradley's, but the voice on the other end didn't sound quite right.
"Who are you?" Freya blinked and asked.
"I am Mr. Austin's friend. He just left the room, but I'll let him know that you want him when he returns," Patrick's mischievous voice replied.
Xavier had mentioned that Bradley's new bride was interesting, but he never expected her voice to be so pleasant and cute when she spoke.
She spoke alluringly, as if every word she uttered could captivate Patrick’s soul.
However, Patrick was unsure if Bradley could resist her temptations if she desired intimacy in the early morning. He believed she truly appeared to be a charming and enchanting figure.
Patrick's mind wandered, imagining various extravagant scenarios. He was aware that Bradley had recently recovered from an illness and engaging in such activities on a daily basis could potentially harm his health.
As Freya was about to say something, she heard a teasing voice on the other end of the phone. "Bradley, your new bride is calling, saying she wants you. It seems like you weren't able to satisfy her last night."
Embarrassed, Freya blushed as she understood the underlying meaning behind the words.
She couldn't believe that the person on the phone had interpreted her innocent request differently, twisting it into a sexual connotation.
She wondered what kind of people Bradley's friends were.
Soon, she heard Bradley's deep and melodious voice. "Who gave you permission to answer my call?"
Still dazed, Freya heard Bradley ask, "What's the matter?"
Freya muttered as she gazed at her own fingers, "I want to go out for a walk, but Frederick won't let me. So, I wanted to ask for your help."
"You should stay at home for now. It's not safe to go out," Bradley responded from the other end of the line.
Standing by the large window, he squinted slightly with a tense expression on his face, but his voice remained gentle.
"I really want to go out today! Can I?" Freya asked in a coquettish manner, surprising Bradley.
"Is she flirting with me?"he thought.
Bradley didn't want her to go out because Ethan was still in the hospital. He was concerned that people from the Austin family might cause trouble and put Freya in danger if she ventured outside.
However, if she insisted on going out, she totally could.
"If you really want to go out, I will ask bodyguards to accompany you. Just make sure not to wander around," Bradley's voice sounded somewhat helpless but also comforting.
Freya pouted and obediently replied, "I won't wander. Thank you, Mr. Austin." She hung up abruptly and turned to Frederick. "I've got Mr. Austin's permission! I can go out now."
After double-checking with Bradley on the phone, Frederick, accompanied by a bodyguard, joined Freya as they left the house.
...
On the third floor of Shangri-La Bar, there was an office where Patrick and Bradley sat, engaging in a conversation with a hint of mischief in Patrick's smile.
"Bradley, I can guarantee that you have fallen in love with that fool," Patrick remarked.
Patrick was convinced Bradley was in love with his seductive voice and his efforts to make her happy.
Dressed in a sleek black suit, Bradley exuded an elegant and commanding presence. With one raised eyebrow, he emitted a strong aura that silenced Patrick.
"I do not appreciate the use of the word 'fool' to describe her," Bradley's voice turned cold, coupled with a warning glare. Sensing his mistake, Patrick quickly amended his words, referring to her as Mrs. Austin instead.
"Bradley, I've heard rumors that she has knowledge of medicine. Is that true or false?" Patrick asked.
Bradley subtly narrowed his eyes, unsure of the truth but acknowledging her skill in acupuncture. He had noticed a significant improvement in his well-being these past few days.
"Why do you ask so many questions?" Bradley replied, his tone icy.
Patrick chuckled lowly, "Oh, I'm just curious about how you two usually interact with each other. Have you already revealed your true identity to her?"
With Bradley's intimidating appearance, including his disguise, most women wouldn't dare to give him a second glance.
The fact that he feigned blindness and disability added an intriguing element to their circumstances.
Patrick reasoned that since Bradley pretended he couldn’t see, it was hard for him to make love.
"No," Bradley responded in a flat tone, his expression remaining cold. He picked up his phone from the table and absentmindedly played with it. He had forgotten to take it with him earlier when he left the room.
"How do you two have fun, then?" Patrick asked bluntly, his curiosity evident.
Before he could finish his question, an apple was thrown directly at him, silencing him as it was shoved into his mouth. "Shut up," Bradley retorted.
Despite his desire for Freya, Bradley hesitated each time the opportunity to have sex with her.
At only nineteen years old, she hadn't even accepted him yet. Taking such a reckless action would only scare her. He wanted to give her time to prepare and, ideally, for her to willingly give herself to him.
Recognizing his own limited knowledge of her, Bradley believed it was crucial to thoroughly investigate everything before making any moves. As he thought of Freya, a faint smile appeared on his lips.
Just then, Xavier entered the room.
"Bradley, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at HealWell Clinic this morning at ten. Renowned doctor Lexi will also be in attendance. Would you like to go and have a look?" he asked
