Freya was taken aback by Lola's audacity. "How could she shamelessly refer to her unborn child as noble?" Freya thought.
Once Ethan discovered the truth, the Austin and Lawson families would laugh at this farce.
"I'm sorry, but this is a clinic, and we don't sell pregnancy tests!" Abby replied, unable to tolerate Lola's arrogance and impatience.
"If the clinic doesn't sell pregnancy tests, it should close down!" Lola responded arrogantly. With the Austin family's support and her status as the carrier of Ethan's child, she felt invincible.
"Even if we did have it, we wouldn't sell it to you! Leave now and stop tarnishing our pharmacy's reputation," Abby retorted firmly.
Lola grew furious, her eyebrows raised as she pointed accusingly at Abby. "I'm carrying the child of the Austin family! Do you want to be their enemy?"
"What if we are enemies?" Abby raised an eyebrow and made it clear that if Lola didn't leave, she would not hesitate to resort to force.
Enraged, Lola clenched her teeth. "Just wait. Tomorrow, I will have Ethan buy your damn pharmacy. You will all be kicked out."
With that, Lola stormed towards the exit. However, as she reached the door, she suddenly remembered something and turned to face Freya. "Go to another pharmacy and buy me a pregnancy test."
"No way! Just go and buy it yourself," Freya replied.
"If you refuse to listen to me, just wait and see how I handle you," Lola seethed with anger when Freya rejected her request. She was infuriated and couldn't control her emotions.
Lola figured that Freya was the reason why so many bad things happened to her. At the salon the other day, she even played pranks on Lola and Ethan and ruined their hair.
Lola sometimes wondered if Freya was truly a fool. It was hard to believe that someone intellectually challenged could be so cunning and manipulative.
Lola was ready to scold Freya, but suddenly, Freya cowered in fear and hugged herself. She pleaded, "I'll listen to you! Please don't scold me. I promise not to tell anyone that the child you're carrying is not Ethan's."
"Wait, what?! Lola, the child in your belly isn't Ethan's?" the socialites exclaimed, shocked by this revelation.
"Then whose child is it? Could it be that muscular guy from Shangri-La Bar?" another socialite said.
"I knew it! Ethan is so careful, so how could he let you get pregnant?"
Lola felt like she was going insane. Just a moment ago, the socialites were praising her, but now, with a single sentence from Freya, their attitudes shifted, and their words dripped with sarcasm.
She couldn't resist the urge to strangle Freya right then and there. She rolled her sleeves, preparing to teach her sister a harsh lesson.
Freya shivered as she muttered, "Lola and Ethan broke up, and I'm feeling upset. I think I should just go home."
"What nonsense are you talking about, Freya? I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!" Lola's anger flared, her face contorted with fury. She was convinced that Freya was intentionally causing trouble.
As Abby watched Freya feign innocence, she couldn't help but be amazed by her cunning nature. Freya was a master at acting clueless, deceiving others so convincingly that even Abby almost believed she was really intellectually challenged. Despite being smart, Lola seemed no match for such a crafty adversary.
Before Lola could make a move toward Freya, a group of girls surrounded her.
"Lola, you still haven't revealed who the father of your child is, have you? If it's truly that muscular man from Shangri-La Bar, we'll help you seek justice. We can't let the child be born without a father and be branded as illegitimate," Diana Smith expressed mock concern for Lola, her words sarcastic.
Lola's face flushed with embarrassment. She protested louder, "I've already said the child is Ethan's! Don't listen to Freya's nonsense. She's just a fool."
"If the child truly belongs to Ethan, why don't you call him right now in front of us?" Diana scornfully glanced at Lola. "When it comes to something as big as pregnancy, you should let Ethan know. Don't you agree, girls?"
"Yes! He should take responsibility for you and the child."
"I'll give him a ring," she said. Lola had far too much insight into the nature of these ladies, so she knew that it would be difficult to fool them if she hadn't made the call. However, deep down, she knew that the baby was not Ethan's, and she was uncertain about how to handle the situation.
"Go ahead, make the call," they all eagerly exclaimed. They eagerly anticipated to see Lola get humiliated, as they firmly belied that only a fool wouldn't resort to lies. They all knew Lola was fooling with them all along.
Lola had no choice but to call Ethan, despite her reluctance.
With a wry grin, Diana said, "Lola, put it on speakerphone."
Lola reluctantly dialed Ethan's number, knowing she had no choice. The call connected swiftly, and a feeble voice rang through, "Lola? What the hell! We already broke up. Why are you calling me?"
After that, Ethan swore angrily at Lola over the phone.
As Lola observed the shift in the girls' expressions, she composed herself and declared flirtatiously, "Ethan, I know you're still mad at me, but I'm pregnant now. You can't break up with me."
"Have you lost your mind, Lola? How long have we been together? How could you possibly be pregnant?" Ethan's disdainful tone echoed through the speaker, heard by everyone.
A wave of doom washed over Lola. "Ethan, are you feeling uncomfortable? How could you forget that we've been dating for a month? I don't have any other boyfriends besides you! Whose child could it be if not yours?" she insisted, trying to soothe his doubts.
"Lola, don't even try to blame me after Bradley came after you. Let me make it clear, I didn't even cum during our encounters," Ethan's stern words shocked the girls, but they quickly composed themselves.
"Lola, so you've been deceiving us all this time. Turns out that it is not a noble child! It's just a bastard," one of the girls said.
"Haha, we thought you were going to rise up like a phoenix, but it turns out you're just a common free-range chicken," another girl mocked.
"Being friends with you really brings down our standards and wastes our time. Hmph!" their flattery for Lola quickly turned into mockery and sarcasm.
They realized they had only been friends with her because of her relationship with Ethan, and now they felt deceived by her constant lying and using the idea of a noble child to manipulate them. It infuriated them.
"Listen, girls! This is all a misunderstanding. Ethan was just disoriented from the attack, but this child was truly his. And we haven't broken up," Lola desperately tried to salvage the situation.
However, the socialites ignored her, refusing to give her any attention.
"Lola, are you still going to buy a pregnancy test?" Freya interjected with a sly smile, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle. She had been patiently waiting for Lola to become arrogant so she could expose the truth, as she relished the satisfaction of watching her sister fall from her perceived peak.
Lola's expression turned pale at Freya's words, and she wished she could rip her to shreds. She silently swore at Freya, calling her a spoiled brat for having her secret revealed.
Lola didn't have the energy to elaborate further, so she just exploded with rage and screamed at Freya, "You're not stupid! You did it on purpose!"
Freya laughed and got her escape plan together. However, a crowd of people rushed into the room out of nowhere. Several men in black suits escorted a man in a blue-striped suit and sunglasses. When Freya finally looked up, her expression turned sour.
