"What do you want?"
Cain was extremely scared. He had just deceived someone, so was it time for retribution?
Frederick did not speak and simply raised his hand as a signal for the two bodyguards to start beating up Cain.
Cain was in so much pain that he started howling. "I won't accept the job anymore. Please, spare me!"
"I knew it!" Freya said with an innocent smile. "I told you that having a dark forehead means bad luck. You didn't believe me, and now you're in a disaster."
Lydia gritted her teeth as she watched Cain be beaten up. How she wished she could kill Freya right then and there.
Freya was a hard opponent who had escaped unscathed and even turned the tables against them.
How was Lydia to clean up this mess now?
Owen observed everything and banged his cane on the ground in frustration.
"Arthur, in the future, stop playing these manipulative games with me. Instead of wasting your time scheming, focus on how to manage your wife and run the company well."
After saying that, he turned to Lydia and sternly said, "As for you, Lydia, as a daughter-in-law, you should work for the family's interest and do good deeds instead of causing trouble. Since you married Arthur, you should support him, be a good partner, and help him succeed in his career. In this regard, you should really learn from Freya!"
Lydia and Arthur were left speechless. They thought they could easily ruin Freya with their plan, but she effortlessly resolved the situation.
Now, they were being reprimanded by Owen. Lydia was furious enough to want to tear Freya to pieces right away.
Just then, someone resentfully call out from the doorway.
"Mom, Dad, you said you would pick me up later tonight. Why didn't you come?"
Jinny appeared at the doorway. Her eyes were slightly swollen, but she seemed in good spirits and not on the verge of collapsing as Lydia described.
Lydia's mood worsened.
Jinny's appearance meant things would be getting worse.
Bradley wheeled out of the elevator with a dark look on his face as he coldly asked, "Lydia, didn't you say Jinny was seriously ill? How is he back home and looking well?"
Bain had just said Freya's fate clashed with Jinny's, so Freya had to leave in order to drive out the bad luck. Now, Freya was still around while Jinny returned, safe and sound.
It was a large slap to the face.
Lydia felt very guilty.
After Jinny was sent to the hospital, her fever died down. However, she and Arthur had a plan. Then, it failed, and Freya was able to strike back.
Now, Jinny had come home on her own. How were they going to explain this?
Owen was already furious, and seeing Jinny only confirms his suspicions.
This was all just a show orchestrated by Arthur and Lydia to force Freya out.
He slammed the table in anger. "You scoundrels! How dare mess around with my granddaughter's safety. Do you think I'm old enough to be easily fooled?"
Upon seeing how angry Owen was, Lydia hurriedly spoke up to smooth things over. "Dad, Jinny was really sick just now. Father Cain's blessing must have worked and healed Jinny."
Jinny was confused. What were her parents up to now?
When she saw Lydia winking non-stop at her, she confusedly said, "Grandpa, I still had a high fever about 30 minutes ago, but then it suddenly went away. I was suddenly better."
Freya felt like laughing. If a blessing would work, what were doctors for?
This family was obviously ganging up on her.
"Alright. Fine. If you're feeling better, continue to the ancestral hall to repent."
Arthur and his family were getting more and more unreasonable, They tried to rely on his traditionalist mindset to stage the show. Fortunately, Freya saw through Cain's tricks. Otherwise, he would have fallen for the scoundrel's tricks.
Freya suffered an injustice, so Owen had to correct it.
When Jinny heard that she had to go to the ancestral hall, she cried in fear. "Grandpa, I can't go to the ancestral hall. T-There are ghosts there."
"Ghosts? Those are your ancestors!"
"Dad, just spare Jinny. Don't lock her up in there," Lydia pleaded.
"I want her to be inside along with you, Arthur and Lydia."
Owen was furious. Bradley had only been home for less than a day, and so much had already happened.
If he did not discipline this family well, who knew what trouble would happen tomorrow or the day after?
"Dad, you can't lock me up in the ancestral hall. I have to go to work tomorrow," Arthur anxiously said.
"Don't worry about the company. With James around, you don't need to worry. Bradley's eyes have also recovered. I plan to have him help with the company too," Owen said.
Upon hearing that, Arthur was stunned.
Let Bradley back into the company?
No! He had finally driven away that man. How could Arthur let Bradley return to the office?
Lydia panicked and said, "Dad, even though Bradley can see now, he still has trouble walking. He should rest at home."
"Don't worry, Lydia. There's nothing wrong with my body," Bradley coldly declared, ignoring the family's shock.
Owen had discussed this with him earlier that day.
Bradley also planned to take advantage of this opportunity to return to the office to slowly reclaim what belonged to him. As for Arthur, Bradley would crush him under his foot so badly that he could never turn over a new leaf.
"Bradley, you and Freya should go on a honeymoon after getting married. It's not good to be in such a rush to go back to work."
Arthur was sweating hard. With James still in the company and Bradley's return, his situation would be even more difficult in the future.
Therefore, no matter what, Bradley could not return to the office.
Upon hearing that, Bradley turned to Freya and asked for her opinion. "Freya, do you agree for me to return to work in the office?"
The affectionate way he said her name had stunned her.
She had only been called in that tone by her mother growing up, so hearing it from Bradley's mouth left her feeling unsure.
Everyone looked at Freya, hoping she would say no.
After snapping out of her thoughts, Freya looked into Bradley's deep eyes and earnestly replied, "I naturally have no objections. A man should prioritize his career, and seeing Bradley being so diligent makes me happy."
If he wanted to return to the company, she would naturally agree wholeheartedly.
That way, he would be busy with work. It meant he would not be in the mood to tease her.
Bradley could read her mind and suddenly reached out and held her hand.
"Since you don't mind, I am willing to go back to the company to help. As for the honeymoon, we will go after the wedding banquet."
He spoke in a very firm tone and even pinched her hand as if to remind her not to celebrate.
