Chapter 116 The Old Friends in the Mountain!

"Just the other day, I saw a dress that I really liked. Will you buy it for me?" Lola leaned against him, her coquettish manner melting his resolve.

Ethan pinched her chin without saying a word, preparing for another round of banter about this matter.

Suddenly, a howl echoed through the air.

Ethan pushed Lola away abruptly, sitting up on the bed with a triumphant smile in his eyes.

"Lola, I'll buy it for you. Whatever you want."

With the sound of wolves, and Freya up in the mountains, she wouldn't be able to evade the pursuit of the wolf pack even if she had great skills. This time, Freya was definitely in trouble.

Ethan was in a good mood now, so no matter what Lola asked for, he could agree to it.

"Ethan, you're so good to me!"

Just as she finished speaking, the sound of wolf howls continued. Lola pretended to be scared and hid in Ethan's arms. "There are wolves howling, I'm so scared. Comfort me, please."

"Don't be afraid, I'm here." Ethan smirked wickedly and lay back down.

Meanwhile, Freya lazily watched as the wolf pack approached closer and closer until they were right in front of her.

"Snowy, long time no see!" She jumped down from the tree and rubbed the fur of the white wolf.

Snowy was Freya's best friend.

Because of its all-white fur and commanding demeanor, Freya named it Snowy.

Indeed, Snowy was very powerful. Within just a year, it became the leader of the entire wolf pack in Titan Mountain.

Snowy crouched down in front of Freya, enjoying her caresses.

Originally a fierce and domineering leader among the wolves, it now appeared meek and obedient in front of Freya, like a docile puppy.

"I'll be living at the foot of the southern mountain from now on. You don't have to come looking for me in Luiville Village anymore!" Freya gently hugged Snowy as if it were her closest friend.

Snowy let out a low growl in response, as if acknowledging her words.

In reality, Snowy wasn't as obedient as it appeared. When Freya first met it, it was a very fierce wolf.

It even almost took her life!

Freya took out the wolf tooth whistle from her body and blew it, her thoughts drifting far away.

Seven years ago, on Titan Mountain.

She rescued an injured masked man on the mountain.

"Whatever you want in return, blow the whistle and I will make it happen for you!"

"Brother, can you take me away from here?"

"Of course, wait for me here tomorrow morning, and I'll arrange for someone to fetch you!"

On that particular day, Freya waited for the man tirelessly, but he never showed up. Instead, she attracted the attention of Snowy.

Wolves, as predators, do not easily abandon their prey once they've locked onto them.

As she was chased by Snowy, Freya inadvertently blew the wolf tooth whistle, causing the frenzied Snowy to abruptly cease its attack.

In fact, it almost seemed to show fondness towards her!

From then on, whenever Freya ascended the mountain, Snowy would eagerly follow her, eventually leading to their friendship.

Over the years, Freya always kept the wolf tooth whistle with her, never parting with it.

She believed that the man must have encountered some hardships, which explained his absence.

With a pang of loneliness, Freya stroked Snowy's fur, saying, "If you find him, please inform me promptly."

The white wolf stood up proudly, as if responding to her.

Meanwhile, in the garden.

Bradley sat in his wheelchair, his gaze narrowed.

Frederick returned with a group of bodyguards, reporting respectfully, "Mr. Bradley, we've combed through the entire mansion but couldn't locate Madam."

Hearing this, Bradley's expression darkened further.

With her absence combined with the sudden wolf howls, everything felt incredibly strange.

Bradley had a foreboding feeling that something had happened to Freya!

Nameless fear spread in his heart as Bradley's brows furrowed tightly. He looked up at the mountain behind, feeling suspicious in his heart.

"Take people the back mountain to check. We must find her."

Bradley ordered Frederick to review the surveillance footage.

The footage revealed Freya's movements around the old mansion, including her confrontation with Lola, during which she even slapped her.

Afterwards, Freya headed to the garden swing, where Lola appeared again, indicating their disagreement. Freya then pursued Lola towards the back mountain.

"Lola visited the old mansion. Bring her to me."

When Bradley thought that Freya's disappearance might be Lola's fault, the desire to kill arose in his heart.

"Yes, Mr. Bradley."

Frederick led the men into Ethan's residence, where the two had just finished their affair and were still entangled in each other's arms.

Suddenly, someone barged in, and Ethan shouted angrily, "What are you doing? Can't you see this is my room?"

Ignoring him, Frederick ordered the bodyguards, "Go, take Miss Lawson away."

The bodyguards complied and moved forward to apprehend her.

Lola, now caught off guard, crossed her arms and shrieked incessantly, "What are you grabbing me for? Let me go!"

"You lowly servant, Lola is my woman. Dare you take her away and give her a try?" Ethan yelled, his neck flushing red. Although he merely played around with Lola, he couldn't bear to have someone take her from his territory.

"This is Mr. Bradley's order. Take her away!" Ignoring his warning, Frederick ordered the guards to drag Lola away.

Of course, to avoid sullying Mr. Bradley's eyes, he had someone dress Lola before presenting her to Bradley.

Infuriated, Ethan limped over with his cane in hand.

Lola had just done him a favor, and he cared little for her fate now. He simply wanted to silence her and prevent her from speaking out of turn.

"What do you mean, Bradley?"

Bradley didn't have time for him. His gaze was icy as he looked at Lola and asked coldly, "Where did Freya go?"

Lola shuddered guiltily, glanced at Ethan, and then mustered up the courage to speak.

"I have no idea where she went. Maybe you're asking the wrong person, Mr. Bradley?"

This was the first time Lola had seen Bradley's face. Indeed, it was as ugly as rumored, especially the scar on his face, which was as repulsive as tree bark.

She wondered how Freya managed to live with him every day, hugging a ghost all night long. Didn't she have nightmares?

Suddenly, Lola felt that Ethan was handsome and masculine, far more outstanding than this ugly monster.

Seeing her scrutinize him, Bradley felt disgusted, his voice lowered. "The surveillance footage captured you and Freya together, running towards the back mountain. Where is she?"

Under the man's frosty gaze, Lola felt a twinge of fear but still mustered the courage to speak. "We separated at the entrance of the back mountain. How would I know where she went?"

Then, as if remembering something, she said spitefully, "Oh, right, Freya is a fool. Maybe she ran up the mountain herself."

Hearing this, Bradley's brows furrowed, his narrow eyes emanating a murderous aura. "You better pray that Freya's disappearance has nothing to do with you. Otherwise, I will make you pay the price."
