Just now she noticed that James' gaze towards Freya was off, and she didn't expect it to be true; James is interested in Freya.
She wasn't in a hurry to break the deadlock, because she suddenly found Bradley's jealousy unexpectedly amusing.
In the past, this man pretended to be disabled, blind, and ugly. She always felt sorry for Freya. But now that he was no longer pretending and revealed his current handsome appearance, he's simply stunning.
The key is his figure; even in a black shirt, you can still see the perfect golden ratio, solid chest muscles, sexy six-pack abs, and a height of nearly 1.9 meters tall – he's practically more perfect than an international supermodel!
Ella used to be a special agent, with eyes sharper than most. Just a glance, and she could almost accurately measure a man's dimensions.
James was not bad either, but standing next to Bradley, he clearly fell short in terms of aura.
In Ella's eyes, Bradley was indeed the perfect match for her little heart!
But she was curious which one she would choose. After all, these two men are top-notch heartthrobs, like God's favorites!
"Don't forget, James, she's my wife!" Bradley's patience ran out as he adjusted his tie, a cold smirk forming on his lips.
Freya sensed this guy was about to get violent again, so she spoke up, "Bradley, let go!"
The whole room tensed up instantly because of her words.
Ella paused, taken aback.
"So, Freya, are you choosing James?"
James was pleasantly surprised. Since Freya didn't refuse him, she gave him and Bradley a fair chance to compete?
His smile lasted no more than three seconds, but Freya's words extinguished the hope that had just sprung up in his heart.
"Bradley, you're hurting me so much, you might break my bones."
A soft, feminine voice, tinged with a hint of coquettishness, pulled Bradley back from the edge of losing control.
With bloodshot eyes, he glanced at her, loosening his strength a little.
"I really have important things to do. After I'm done, I'll definitely go home by myself. Don't be angry!" Freya couldn't quite explain why she had to explain, but seeing Bradley angry and upset made her feel sorry for him.
His emotions eased as she comforted him. He possessively wrapped his arm around her waist, freeing her arm from James' grip and pulling her into his embrace.
"What important things? Can I help you with it?" His tone softened considerably, making it hard to imagine he was the same person who had just gone mad.
Ella witnessed this scene with a playful smirk on her lips.
The way Bradley acted just now was ruthless and domineering, giving no chance for his rival to intervene. This kind of man exuded a kingly aura and could indeed provide Freya with a sense of protection.
"I've found where Herbie is. He's in Aurigon, and I need to fly there right away," Freya truthfully explained.
Bradley raised an eyebrow. "I asked you to come home just to tell you this. The helicopter is ready, and I will go there with you."
Freya was stunned.
So...
He asked her to come home was not a matter of being unreasonable, but to take her to Aurigon.
Freya's heart fluttered again, even her gaze at the man became gentler.
Their meaningful gazes were so intense, it was enough to torture all the singletons out there!
James clenched his fists tightly, suddenly feeling ridiculous about his own presence.
"I think it would be better for you and Freya to just be friends!" Ella saw through James's disappointment with just one glance and comforted him.
James smiled bitterly, "I was just being foolishly delusional!"
"No, having dreams is part of living, but insisting on taking what isn't rightfully yours, that's just foolish," Ella said casually. "I believe you're a wise man and wouldn't do something so foolish."
James gazed at her calm and composed expression and suddenly gained a bit more respect for this woman.
How does one gain such insight into emotions?
"Ella, then you stay with James for a while. Bradley and I will go to Aurigon," Freya trusted this man; he was capable to help her catch Herbie.
After all, it had only been a few days since she asked for his help, and this man had already managed to find Herbie's whereabouts so quickly. It's easy to imagine how powerful his backers must be.
"Alright, then take care!" Ella made an OK gesture.
"I'll go with you. Maybe I can help?" Freya offered.
No need! Bradley coldly refused.
He didn't particularly like James, not just because he liked Freya, but because James was more cunning than Ethan Austin.
I have friends in Aurigon who can help us avoid a lot of trouble, James said calmly, looking at Freya.
Alright, Ella, you come along too!
Freya had trusted James for many years, but she didn't want their relationship to become strained, so she took Ella along.
Seeing her agreement, Bradley didn't say anything else. He simply handed the car keys to Freya and said "Wait for me in the car."
Though she wasn't sure why he was doing this, Freya accepted.
Once she left, James smiled calmly and said, "Uncle, there's no need to be so wary of me. I asked Freya out not just for coffee, it was to talk about Herbie. I just didn't expect how quickly you would find Herbie's whereabouts in just a few days."
"I don't want to hear you say 'Freya'," Bradley warned, his tone cold and menacing as he crossed his arms. "No matter how long you've known Freya, she's my rightful wife now. From now on, I'll be the one handling everything about her. You don't need to bother anymore."
James smiled confidently and replied, "I'll keep your warning in mind, but you don't have the authority to interfere with her right to make friends. Even if Freya and I are not meant to be, we will remain friends for life!"
Just as Bradley was about to say something, Freya's voice came through.
"Bradley, hurry up! I'm afraid the person might leave if we take any longer."
Seeing her in a hurry, Bradley's lips curved slightly, and he quickly walked toward her.
James sighed bitterly. Freya had really changed!
Before, he was the only male friend in her world. But now, with Bradley around, she could easily disregard him.
He had always believed that they would end up together, but with Bradley's involvement, everything had changed!
Thinking about this, he walked towards his car!
"You don't seem to be in a good mood. Let me give you a ride!" Ella's car suddenly stopped in front of him, and she winked at him.
With a gentle smile, James didn't refuse. He opened the passenger door and got in!
