Fifteen minutes later, the four of them arrived at the harbor.
Gabriel Rousseau hurriedly came to greet them, signaling for Bradley to talk on the side.
"I'm telling you, Boss, if you had come any later, I wouldn't have been able to hold on. The captain has been knocked down, a bunch of drug dealers have taken over the whole ship and they won't let anyone near. Our men just tried to board just now and got into a conflict with them. They even used weapons and injured some of our men."
Bradley frowned, glanced at the nearby ship, and said, 'Take the guys back first. I'll handle things from here."
"Are you going to board the ship?" Gabriel asked.
"Yeah! Are you sure about this? Is Herbie on board?"
"When the conflict happened just now, our men indeed saw a man who looks a lot like Herbie. He's probably the person you're looking for. But Boss, are you really planning to go aboard? It's full of crazy drug dealers up there, and they're all experienced. I'm worried it might be dangerous for you."
Bradley glanced at the three people behind him and said, "Exactly because it's dangerous, I'm not planning to take anyone with me. Take Freya and the others away, and send someone skilled to come with me."
Gabriel was still worried. "I'm skilled, I'll go with you."
"No, if something really happens, and neither of us can make it back, what about the organization?" Bradley said, and just then, they heard the ship's departure signal. His brow furrowed even tighter. "No time to argue, just do as I said."
After saying this, Bradley approached Freya and warned her, "This trip to Blackstone Island is very dangerous. I've already arranged for someone to escort you back. If anything happens, I'll let you know right away."
"Do you want to face the danger alone?" Freya couldn't believe that Bradley's final decision was to go alone.
But she wasn't going to back down. She was prepared to face the danger ahead, because this was her own matter. She couldn't let others risk their lives for her.
"Be good and listen! The ship is about to leave. I will go first, you wait for my message at home!"
After saying that, Bradley swiftly dashed into the darkness, deftly slipping onto the ship alone.
Seeing this, Freya followed suit and boarded the ship.
Gabriel was too late to stop them, as not only Freya, but also Ella and James boarded the ship.
He finally ordered two skilled bodyguards to secretly guard them and organized for a small boat with additional people to follow along.
On the ship.
Worried about being noticed, Freya didn't immediately go to find Bradley, instead, she sneaked into the cabin unnoticed.
In the pitch-black night, there were two red glowing dots flickering nearby. Two big men stood on the deck smoking.
Then one of them said, "What's with the rush to get away? What kind of mess did you step into now?"
"Don't even mention it. It's all about that incident from seven years ago. I should've known that woman's daughter would be trouble. I should've been tougher back then and sent her straight to hell. Now, seven years later, she's chasing me around the world, teaming up with the cripple from Austin family, trying to drag me back and reopen old cases."
"I'm not afraid of that girl. If she shows up, maybe I can mess around with her. But Bradley is a different story. I heard he's back on his feet, even Arthur is now under his thumb. If he catches me, I'll be in prison for life."
"What to fear about some guy who just got off his wheelchair? He's been sitting around for years, it'll take him ages to get strong again. Maybe I could squash him with a flick of my finger!"
"Don't underestimate Bradley. I heard it from Wilson yesterday, it seems that Bradley had been talking to Gabriel from the Sigelac. If we mess with people from the Sigelac, you know what will happen."
"What do you mean? Are you saying Bradley might be with the Sigelac?"
"It's hard to say, but better safe than sorry! After saying that, the man forcefully kicked the gate and said fiercely, "Back then, I was also manipulated to do that damn thing. For years, I've been running around the world, and now I've had enough!"
At that moment, Freya was hiding in the rear cabin, catching every word of their conversation, crystal clear.
If she was not mistaken, one of these two guys should be Herbie. He mentioned the incident from seven years ago, which was the case involving her mom's fatal car accident.
Who would've thought after all these years of searching, she finally found this pesky bug!
Herbie, Herbie, you think you can run to the ends of the earth and I won't catch you? When I finally catch you, you're going straight to jail, spending the rest of your days locked up with Sophie!
However, while they were mentioning the Sigelac, they also brought up Bradley's name.
How were these two related?
After hesitated for a moment, Freya decided to leave and look for Bradley.
Just then, she bumped into a nearby wooden board, causing a noise that caught the attention of the two men ahead.
"Who's that?"
A rough male voice echoed, and one of the men tossed his cigarette butt aside, striding purposefully toward her direction.
Freya immediately held her breath.
The footsteps were getting closer and closer. She tightly hid behind the cabin, ready to strike, when suddenly, a strong, lean hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her into the nearby storage room.
Freya was ready to throw a hand chop, when the other person spoke first, "It's me."
The familiar voice, the familiar scent, it was Bradley.
In the dim light, Freya could see the man's handsome face clearly. His eyes were showing concern and his tone was condemning.
"Didn't I ask you to go back and wait for my message? Why did you come along?"
"Herbie is my enemy, and I should be the one taking this risk. I can't let you do it for me," Freya whispered, pursing her lips.
"You're my wife, so it's my duty to take care of you in every possible way."
The low, soothing voice, combined with the pleasant scent of mint, filled the narrow space, causing Freya's heart to flutter at his words.
"We are just in a contractual relationship, don't get too attached!"
She turned her face away, feeling a slight warmth in her ears.
In this cramped storage room packed with all kinds of life-saving gear, there was barely enough room for both of them. Pinned against the door by Bradley, Freya could feel his heart pounding and his body radiating heat as they stood closely together.
They were breathing heavily in that cramped space, even their heartbeats could be heard clearly.
Bradley looked at her from such a close distance, noticing her slightly blushing cheeks and the watermarks of nervousness on her clear lashes. Her scent was really nice, making him feel like he wanted to kiss her.
Extending his rough fingertips, he gently traced her face, finally drifting to her chin and lightly lifting it up.
As Bradley's handsome face got closer, Freya felt super nervous, that she almost couldn't breathe.
