Since Bradley was dressed in all black blending into the night, coupled with the sudden thick fog, the two of them only saw Freya alone.
Herbie rushed towards Freya like a wolf locking its prey, leaping over the deck with speed.
The sharp military knife glinted with an eerie light in the darkness of the night.
Bradley didn't plan on fighting just yet. He grabbed Freya's hand and ran, realizing that any confrontation would draw everyone's attention.
The ship would soon reach the shore. They could hide for now, then strike once they were on land!
But he didn't realize how determined these addicts were. They chased after them relentlessly.
When they were finally cornered, Freya gave Bradley a look. "They haven't noticed you yet. I'll keep Herbie busy and you can find a chance to take the other guy out."
"Are you sure you can handle it?" Bradley asked, feeling worried. After all, these people had just taken drugs and were completely in an excited state.
Freya winked at him, "I could dodge Mr. Zoller's darts. Don't you trust my skills? Besides, Herbie showed up on his own and it's just the two of them. Why don't we catch him right here so as to avoid unnecessary trouble when we get to the island."
"Alright, just be careful yourself. I'll find a chance to take them down from behind," Bradley agreed.
With that, Bradley's figure disappeared into the darkness.
Herbie didn't spot him at all, his eyes were fixated on the scent of a woman the entire time.
Soon, Freya was forced onto the deck.
"Sweetheart, you can't escape now. Come to me!" Herbie's eyes were filled with lust, his body full of energy after taking drugs, and he was in need of a good release.
The night was pitch black, and Herbie couldn't see Freya's face. But that didn't matter to him. At this point, any woman would suffice.
Of course, just because she was a woman, Herbie worried that the knife in his hand might scare her. He threw it directly to the burly man behind him and approached Freya empty-handed.
Just as his hand reached out, before he could even lay a finger on Freya's face, she grabbed his hand and gave it a hard twist, making the bones crack.
Worried that Herbie's scream might attract others, Freya immediately covered his mouth and swiftly knocked him unconscious with a chop to the neck.
Meanwhile, Bradley sneaked up behind the muscular man and silently took him down to the ground.
"Herbie has been caught. You can contact your friends for backup, we must leave before dawn!" Freya looked ahead, the sea in the dark night was misty. Danger lurked everywhere, and they couldn't linger.
Bradley nodded and called Gabriel, asking their boat to come closer.
However, out of nowhere, there was a 'bang' from the first floor of the ship. Someone had just fired a gun!
Freya frowned, looking at Bradley, "Could it be that something happened to Ella and the others?"
Right after she said that, they heard hurried and chaotic footsteps coming from the stairs.
"There are intruders on board, catch them!" a rough voice pierced through the silence of the night.
The next moment, Freya saw Ella and several addicts fighting together, with James nearby.
"Oh no, we've been exposed!" Freya watched as more men rushed towards them, feeling a sense of impending danger.
Before long, they found themselves surrounded, and things quickly got out of hand.
Moreover, these crooks were armed, and they had just taken drugs. Engaging them head-on might result in getting beaten and attacked badly.
"Can you swim?" Bradley turned to look at Freya.
"Yes, I can."
"Okay, you take Herbie and jump into the sea. My men are on their way with the boat, they'll pick you up."
Right after she finished talking, there was another 'bang' and a flash of fire in the darkness.
Without waiting for Freya to think, Bradley reached out, shoved her and Herbie into the sea. But as for himself, he was stabbed in the back by a man who rushed up behind him.
The smell of blood filled the air, strong and sharp.
Freya watched in horror as the man stabbed Bradley, screaming in anguish, "Brad… ley!"
She sank deeper until she vanished into the seabed.
Across the sea level, she could see two figures jumping into the water together, but the blurry shadows made it hard to tell who they were.
Following Bradley's instructions, Freya held onto Herbie and desperately swam backward. She was good at swimming, but carrying another person made her progress slow.
Luckily, Gabriel's boat came quickly, and a few burly bodyguards pulled her and Herbie out of the water.
"Bradley... he's injured. Get someone to help him right away!" Freya spoke as soon as she was safely on the boat.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine!" Gabriel ordered his men to tie up Herbie and instructed the guards to keep an eye on him.
Just then, two heads emerged from the water, quickly swimming toward the boat.
Through the faint moonlight, Freya guessed that the two individuals were Ella and James and urged Gabriel to quickly help rescue them.
But where is Bradley?
Why didn’t he jump in?
Thinking that Bradley was injured, Freya's heart tightened, and without hesitation, she jumped back into the sea.
No matter what, Bradley ended up on that ship because of her. She couldn't just let him get hurt without doing anything!
Seeing her dive back in, Gabriel wiped his forehead nervously, "Freya, you shouldn't..."
However, Freya had already dived underwater by now and couldn't hear anything he said!
At this late hour, coupled with the thick sea fog, Freya could only see the silhouette of the ship, about a few meters away from her.
She swam quickly toward it, the sound of gunshots echoing around her.
Suddenly, explosions of spray erupted beside her, and the scent of blood spread through the air.
With her head plunged into the water, Freya could smell nothing but blood. She could almost be certain that this time, it was Bradley who had jumped in.
The man kept sinking deeper at this moment with large amounts of blood gushing from his back. Freya wondered if he had any other injuries from when she had jumped into the sea.
Since the night was too dark, Freya could only rely on her instinct to swim towards him.
Fortunately, she quickly located him and cradled his face in her hands, sharing her breath with him.
Suddenly, Bradley's eyes snapped open, and his hand instinctively wrapped around her waist, pulling her towards the surface with him.
Gabriel ordered the bodyguards to rescue both of them. Freya hurriedly checked on the man's wound. "Bradley, are you alright? Where are you injured?"
Bradley replied weakly, "It hurts."
"I know you're in pain. Bear with it for now, I'll take a look at it." After saying this, she turned to Gabriel and asked, "Can I borrow a dagger?"
Gabriel quickly passed her the dagger.
Freya took it and cut open Bradley's clothes right away. She looked closely at the wound and gasped in shock.
Apart from the gunshot wound in his back, there were also countless knife wounds all over his body, each one very deep.
