Chapter 158 I'm back!

Freya nodded. "I'll go in now."

"Are you sure you don't need me to come with you?" Ella still had some concerns, considering her injuries.

Freya smiled reassuringly at her. "Don't worry, I can handle this. Remember, I'm a doctor. I know my body well."

Ella saw her off from the car, watching as she wheeled herself into the venue. Looking up at the clear sky, Ella felt a sense of relief. The dawn had arrived!

...

Bruce Lawson and Sophie Lawson found themselves surrounded by reporters, facing a barrage of sharp questions. Bruce Lawson wiped away a cold sweat, feeling the pressure mounting.

After enduring for a while, he couldn't hold back any longer and spoke with a stern expression.

"I've said it before, Charlotte Lawson was the one who strayed first. There's no need to ask further."

Upon hearing this, Bradley smiled faintly and instructed his assistant to display another set of photos, igniting another wave of commotion throughout the venue.

The screens were filled with pictures of Bruce Lawson in various intimate situations with other women, particularly from his time in Shanghai with those spicy ladies. Each one was provocative and eye-catching, making everyone feel uncomfortable. The timestamps in the corner of the photos showed that while some were from before Charlotte Lawson's death, a significant portion were from recent years.

The release of these photos caused an uproar. Bruce Lawson pushed up his glasses, sweating profusely.

How could this happen? He had always been cautious when going out. Why were his indiscretions exposed?

Bradley sat on the stage, watching as the drama unfold. With his resources, obtaining these photos wasn't difficult.

Bruce Lawson was clearly desperate. Since the photos were released, everyone's perception of him changed, even Sophie Lawson beside him couldn't hide her hatred.

Bradley didn't waste any more time. He had his assistant calm the crowd before he spoke.

"I believe everyone here has keen eyes. It's clear who was unfaithful first. Charlotte Lawson, the mother of my wife, was known for her grace and elegance, not the sort to engage in such vulgar behaviour."

"Today, I, Bradley Austin, called upon this press conference not only to clear Charlotte Lawson's name but also to seek justice for her. As everyone knows, Charlotte Lawson died in a car accident years ago. The hit-and-run driver escaped justice, and the case was hastily closed. However, this driver is present here today. Let's invite him to come forward and clarify the events of that incident."

Finishing his statement, Bradley gestured for several bodyguards to escort a burly man to the stage. The crowd parted, allowing him to walk through.

As Herbie Jenkins walked past Sophie Lawson, he gave her a meaningful glance, causing her legs to go weak.

She had thought that destroying Freya would stop Charlotte Lawson's case from being resurfaced. But she never expected Bradley to personally intervene, aiming to crush her completely.

The flashlights in the venue flickered incessantly. Reporters grabbed their cameras, capturing every moment.

In the midst of the flashing lights, Bradley's flawless face was highlighted, perfect from every angle.

He stood up from his wheelchair, hands resting on the table, looking down at Herbie Jenkins.

"Tell us everything you know." He demanded with an icy stare, sending shivers down Herbie's spine. Having experienced Bradley's ruthlessness first-hand during his captivity, Herbie knew there was no mercy to be expected.

He didn't want to endure it again. Glancing at Sophie Lawson, he cursed her inwardly. If it weren't for this woman, he wouldn't be in such a miserable state.

He gritted his teeth and spilled the beans about the accident.

"I was bribed by Sophie Lawson. She asked me to run over Charlotte Lawson, promising me money and a chance to leave the country. At the time, I was desperate and under immense pressure, which led me to commit this heinous act. It was all Sophie Lawson's idea, and I too, am a victim."

Sophie Lawson's face turned pale as she pointed at him, angrily accusing, "You're talking nonsense! I don't even know you, why would you frame me?"

"Stop pretending, Aunt Sophie. He is Wilson's man. How could you not know him."

Just then, a melodious voice echoed through the venue, drawing everyone's attention to the entrance, where a figure had appeared.

Bradley raised his head, momentarily stunned, then filled with joy.

"Isn't this Miss Lawson, Mr. Austin's wife who went missing not long ago?"

Some reporters immediately recognized Freya, and a frenzy ensued as they rushed toward the entrance.

Bradley quickly ordered his bodyguards to protect her.

Before the reporters could get close, a dozen bodyguards blocked them, ensuring Freya's safety.

Freya looked up at the man on stage and smiled. 'Bradley, I'm back!'

This simple statement shook Bradley's heart. He disregarded his own injuries, tearing off his IV drip and rushing down from the stage, embracing her tightly.

"I've been waiting for you. I knew you'd come back."

His embrace was so tight that Freya could hardly breathe, especially with her injuries. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, she whimpered softly, "It's too tight, it hurts."

Bradley realized and quickly released her, gently caressing her cheek as if handling a precious treasure. In front of everyone, he planted a kiss on her forehead.

"These past few days without you felt like my heart was ripped out. Darling, please don't leave me again."

Blushing from the kiss, Freya nodded her head.

Bradley smiled tenderly, his gaze filled with affection as he prepared to lift her up. But Freya stopped him just in time.

"Don't be silly, you're still injured. No big movements."

"Even if my blood vessels burst and I bleed dry from holding you, it would be worth it." With his usual dominance and stubbornness, Bradley lifted her up horizontally and strode towards the stage, protected by a dozen bodyguards who paved the way.

Amidst the flashing lights, Bradley lowered his head to look at Freya, his previously cold and stern eyes now filled with tenderness.

"You're the star today. You call the shots, and I'm here to support you."

Freya blushed at his sweet words, too shy to look up at him. Meanwhile, the reporters were stunned to see Bradley, who had been so imposing just moments ago, now displaying such tenderness towards Freya. His once rigid facial features softened considerably, his eyes brimming with intense love.
