Chapter 164 Repent

Graveyard.

The initially clear and cloudless sky suddenly started to drizzle.

The cemetery in the suburb of the city was eerily quiet. The only sound was the gentle patter of raindrops.

A black Rolls-Royce stopped. A bodyguard ran over with an umbrella to shield Bradley and Freya from the rain.

The police car arrived shortly after. Sophie was escorted down by two police officers and a pale-faced Bruce.

"Dad, Aunt Sophie. My mom's grave is right there. You guys probably haven't been here before!" Freya pointed not far away. Sophie looked in the direction of her fingers, trembling with fear.

She had never been here since Charlotte's death, just knowing she was buried in a cemetery in the suburbs.

Sophie got goosebumps when she saw the grave mound, possibly due to her guilty conscience. The cemetery had several tombs, but the dark weather and black-and-white photographs on the tombstone made her anxious. Furthermore, she was the murderer.

Charlotte died so miserably that year. Her skull was shattered, and all of her internal organs were exposed.

After thinking about Charlotte's death, Sophie's legs weakened and her pupils filled with fear.

"I don't want to be here. Please take me back to the police station." Sophie shivered, her lips trembling. She could almost hear Charlotte's pitiful screams in her ears.

Freya signaled Bradley to put her down. He still had injuries. If he kept moving around and hugging her like this, his wounds might split open.

Bradley did not immediately agree with her. He ordered the bodyguards to bring a wheelchair and personally pushed her to Charlotte's grave.

A lonely tomb stood in the cemetery, with Charlotte smiling so beautifully in the photo. She looked gentle and generous. Her eyes were full of warmth. Who could imagine how tragic her death was?

Freya stood up from her wheelchair and quietly knelt before the tomb. She straightened the flowers blown askew by the wind, then looked up at Sophie and Bruce.

Her eyes were so cold, just like Charlotte's. In this eerie atmosphere, there was a sense of a restless spirit seeking retribution, making Sophie shiver even more violently.

"Do you know what day it is?" Freya asked, her slender hand resting on the cold tombstone. The wind blew the flower next to her, making a rustling sound.

"Today is my mom's memorial day and also my birthday. My mom was going to buy me a birthday cake that day, but a pickup truck knocked her out. Blood mixed with cream spilled all over the ground. Her eyes hadn't even had time to close before she died in front of me."

After Freya finished speaking, she slowly stood up. Bradley stepped forward to help her and they walked over to Sophie.

"My birthday became my mom's death day. It was you who destroyed my mom, my happiness, and my beautiful home! Sophie, you should pay the price for your actions and kneel before my mom to redeem yourself!"

After speaking, a bodyguard kicked Sophie and Bruce in the knee, prompting them to kneel before the tombstone.

"Sophie, bow down to my mom ten times."

"No way!" Sophie found herself in a tough spot and shouted, "So what if I killed her? Just kill me now if you can!"

Freya laughed at that, but her cold gaze was terrifying. She grabbed Sophie's hair, forcing that woman to look at her.

"Killing you would be too easy. I want you to live in pain for the rest of your life, alive but wishing you were dead!"

Sophie thought her scalp would be shredded. Freya's insult only added to the pain and loss that she had already endured. She struggled to breathe, clutching her chest and gasping for air.

However, Freya ignored her. She grabbed Sophie's head and smashed it into the ground repeatedly.

The marble-paved graveyard was cold and stiff. Being dragged by her hair to bow made Sophie dizzy, but Freya kept forcing her to bow harder with each stroke.

Her forehead soon burst open, with blood flowing forth.

Freya went crazy.

Her fierceness frightened Sophie.

"Sophie, do you know what the worst thing you've done is?"

Freya spoke emotionlessly while continuing to move her hands. She controlled the force to scare and hurt Sophie without killing her.

"The thing I regret the most is that I didn't kill you together and left you as a villain to bite me back."

Sophie screamed viciously, blood running down her forehead and blurring her distorted face.

Charlotte used to be at her mercy. That woman never spoke a word despite being humiliated and harassed by her. Who knew that after so many years, Charlotte's daughter would torture her so cruelly without a chance to strike back?

If she had known this day would come, she should have let Herby reverse the car and kill this little bitch.

Freya responded with a cold laugh before forcefully banging Sophie's head towards her mother's tombstone.

"It's a pity there's no such thing as a regret pill. Since you didn't kill me, just wait for me to kill you!"

Bang!

Along with Sophie's screams of pain, Freya closed her eyes, and a sour tear rolled down her cheek.

After more than ten years, she finally made this vicious and malicious woman pay the price. Unfortunately, her mother in heaven could no longer see it.

Several police officers pulled the unconscious Sophie away, leaving Bruce wobbling in the wind and rain without an umbrella.

"Bruce, is it your turn now?"

Freya slowly regained her composure and turned her head to look at him.

Bruce's legs wobbled. He nearly fell to his knees.

The two bodyguards were preparing to carry Bruce when Bradley looked at them, but Freya stopped them. "Let him come from over there and bow every three steps."

"Freya, I'm your dad. You can't treat me like this," Bruce said weakly. He had just witnessed Freya's cruelty and didn't want to end up like Sophie.

"Mr. Lawson, did you forget I already severed ties with you at the press conference earlier?" Freya's voice turned cold. Suddenly, she shouted at him, "Will you do it or not?

"Freya, you unfilial ..."

Bruce was about to explode with anger. He opened his mouth to yell, but a hard kick from the bodyguard behind him sent him to his knees.

Freya looked at him with hatred, her voice cold as ice. "Do as I say, bow every three steps, and apologize to my mom. Otherwise, don't blame me for exposing your dirty secrets."

Ella, who had been silent alongside him, tossed a stack of documents at Bruce as soon as he said that. He turned pale after he looked down.
