A group of directors watched from behind, yet none dared to stand up for Bruce.
With Lawson Corporation now under new ownership, nobody wanted to risk being associated with Bruce's downfall.
"I'm going to wash my hands, and then we'll convene the meeting."
Even though she hadn't come into contact with any blood, Freya felt a sense of revulsion at the mere touch of Bruce's skin.
Freya made her way to the restroom, meticulously washing her hands with soap five times before returning to the meeting room.
The directors remained silent, while Bruce knelt on the ground, resembling a defeated animal.
Initially, Freya contemplated kicking him out, but upon reflection, she decided to keep him around to hear his pleas. It would serve as a fitting punishment.
After all, she knew her father all too well. He would stop at nothing to reclaim Lawson Corporation. Despite his current sorry state, Freya was certain he would employ every trick in the book.
Thus, she resolved to crush him utterly, ensuring he would never rise again.
The directors, opportunistic in nature, now sought to ingratiate themselves with Freya following Bruce's demise.
Observing their obsequious behavior, Bruce erupted in anger, "Larry, Leonard, Walter, you ungrateful parasites! When you were in trouble, who extended a helping hand? I spoke of sharing both fortune and misfortune. Yet now, look at your true colors! No different from lapdogs!"
The accused individuals blushed with embarrassment and fury, struggling to contain their emotions.
"Bruce, if we refuse to grovel like you, will we suffer the same fate? We have families to support, hence we can't risk everything by playing your games. And what have you been doing all these years? Engaging in ventures that only led to losses? The company's downfall is entirely your own doing.
"We've done everything we could to support the company, even putting in our own money to plug the gaps. We've gone above and beyond. Do you expect us to go hungry for your sake too?"
"Moreover, let's address your own choices. You had Charlotte Lawson, a remarkable woman, yet you chose to discard her for someone of lesser quality. Now, with the company in ruins, can we not attribute it to the misdeeds of your chosen partner? If only you had seen her true nature sooner, perhaps you wouldn't have been deceived into selling your company, nearly costing you your life.
These past few days had left Bruce feeling utterly exasperated. He had long banished the name of Sophie Lawson from his thoughts, yet now, with her name mentioned, a surge of rage erupted within him, culminating in him uncontrollably vomiting blood.
Pointing angrily at the group, he exclaimed, "Stop mentioning about that b*tch!"
"Even if we refrain from mentioning her, people outside are gossiping. Everyone is ridiculing you, Bruce. Your life has become a mere puppet show manipulated by women. It's only fitting that you've ended up like this."
Bruce faced a barrage of criticism, even from the old shareholders who had disregarded their past camaraderie. They too found themselves pushed to the edge of the abyss. One wrong step, and they would plummet into oblivion, shattered to pieces.
Bruce knew he was ruined, utterly destroyed by Freya.
He had lost his family, his company. He had fallen from grace, burdened with debt. He had become a repugnant insect in the gutter, ready to be trampled by anyone.
Freya had seen enough of the spectacle. With a single clap of her hands, she brought an end to the drama. "Bruce, from this day forward, you are banned from setting foot in Barnes Group. And as for you, Larry, Leonard, and Walter, you're all fired!"
Her voice was cold and authoritative, reverberating in every corner of the meeting room.
The named individuals stood dumbfounded.
What was happening? They hadn't done anything wrong. Why were they being fired?
Before they could voice their confusion, Freya addressed their concerns, "I'm firing all of you because you were once Bruce's associates, and Barnes Group cannot tolerate the likes of you."
"Freya, we still hold shares in Lawson Corporation. You have no right to fire us."
"I'm sorry, but I've acquired your shares." Freya chuckled softly, her gaze shifting to Ella. Soon, a stock market chart appeared on the large screen.
Ella's efficiency was remarkable. In just a few days, she had transformed Lawson Corporation into Barnes Group.
The reason for naming it Barnes was to let everyone know that this company belonged to Charlotte Barnes.
On the stock distribution chart, it was clearly marked that Freya held 35% of the shares. As Ella spoke, the percentage suddenly jumped to 70%.
Everyone was stunned, exchanging bewildered looks. What was going on?
At that moment, Linda entered with a stack of documents, placing them in front of the directors one by one.
These weren't just any documents. They were transfer-of-ownership contracts, each stamped with their fingerprints.
The directors broke out in a cold sweat. They knew all too well how those fingerprints ended up there. Recently, each of them had stumbled over women, taking photos and recording videos, threatening about showing them to their wives.
As a result, they were presented with these contracts to sign, but in their drunken stupor, they had no idea what they were signing.
Unexpectedly, it turned out to be stock transfer documents.
Larry, infuriated, pushed his reading glasses up and slammed the table. "Freya, how dare you deceive us!"
"And what if I did? How many despicable deeds have you done for Bruce over the years? Do I need to recount them one by one? If I were you, I'd pack up and leave rather than further embarrass yourselves."
Her presence was so overpowering that the directors dared not utter a word.
Bruce collapsed on the ground, utterly defeated.
Freya had even purged Bruce's loyalists within the company, effectively cutting off all his escape routes.
Clutching his fists in frustration, Bruce couldn't accept this utter ruin. He knelt before Freya, his pride shattered. "Freya, I know I haven't been a good father, but you're still my daughter. Even if we sever ties, our blood connection will remain forever. Please don't be so ruthless to your own father."
"Don't mention blood ties in front of me. The thing I detest the most in my life is having your filthy blood running through my veins." Freya leaned forward, hands planted firmly on the table, looking down at Bruce.
"You're truly repulsive, making me sick to my stomach. If you have any backbone left, stand up and face me like a man, just like you've faced me before."
"Do you know why I hate you so much? I hate you for ruining my childhood happiness. I hate you for bringing Sophie into our home, and I hate you for driving my mother away. If it weren't for you, my mother wouldn't have died."
"I swore in front of my mother's grave that I would ruin you, Bruce, and make you regret your sins for the rest of your life. I can spare you your life, but don't ever think I'll forgive you."
"Get out. Get out of my sight this instant. I never want to see you again in my life. As for how you'll live from now on, that's your problem, none of my concern."
Freya's expression remained cold as she delivered these words, then she ordered the security guards to throw Bruce out.
