Chapter 191 Recovery

"Let me down!" she demanded urgently.

Bradley's eyes were murky and unreadable as he lifted her to the bed, leaning in closer.

Freya's first instinct was to hold onto herself.

"Are you nervous?" Bradley's darkened gaze met hers as he buried his face in her hair, planting gentle kisses.

How could she not be nervous?

The memory of last night's pain, of crying out in agony, was enough to send shivers down her spine.

Bradley's fingers idly played with her soft locks of hair, sending shivers down Freya's scalp, reminding her of the terror of last night's experience.

Not to mention the man's eyes, crimson with danger, growing more intense by the moment.

Freya was terrified, her voice trembling. "Please, don't do anything..."

"Darling, am I some sort of beast?" The man's gaze was steady, his voice low.

Freya hugged the blanket tighter around herself, her eyes glimmering with caution.

Indeed, he was a beast, a hungry beast in fact.

"You've been trembling all this time. Are you cold?" As he reached out, Freya immediately recoiled, afraid.

Seeing her fear, Bradley, with a hint of annoyance, unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his wheat-coloured skin.

On it were faint nail marks, all from Freya's scratches last night.

"Don't be afraid. I won't touch you." He beckoned her over with a gesture.

But Freya bit her lip. "If there's anything you want to say, just say it. I can hear you."

Her eyes revealed fear, clearly shaken by the situation.

Little did she know, Bradley's wishes remained unfulfilled from last night, leaving him restless.

Seeing her like this now, he felt waves of frustration.

"Come here, or I'll go over there." The man's voice was deep, his patience clearly wearing thin.

Freya shook her head desperately.

"Darling, I said I won't touch you. I promise."

But Freya continued to ignore him, clutching the blanket tightly as she stared at him with fear.

No matter what he said, she had no intention of getting closer to him today.

With a heavy sigh, Bradley's eyes filled with innocence as he turned away, giving her his back.

He ran his fingers through his hair, feeling so frustrated that he could explode.

Freya couldn't help but sneak a glance at him, finding humour in his annoyed expression.

It made it seem like she was the one bullying him.

Who knew it was her being bullied?

Seeing him like this, Freya couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him. After all, she had prepared to give herself to him last night, only for it to end in a misunderstanding.

Teasing someone and then reining them back in was something nobody could withstand. Especially since Bradley couldn't bear to see her in pain, even though he was the one causing it.

Bradley's muscles tensed, his voice hoarse. "Darling, I don't want you to be afraid of me. If you say no, then it's no. I won't force you."

Freya's heart softened completely. She slowly approached him, gently taking his hand and saying tenderly, "Babe, I know you're upset, but you have to give me time, okay?"

With her coquettish tone, Bradley's heart melted, and he pulled her into his arms, planting two affectionate kisses on her forehead.

"Alright, I'll give you some time. But let's set a timeframe. How long do you need?"

Bradley said this with a hint of reluctance, his innocent yet teasing demeanour making Freya feel a little guilty.

"Until I grow up a little more, at least a few months."

A few months? That would drive him crazy! Bradley's tone was firm. "No, one month."

"How about three months?" Freya snuggled against his arm, acting spoiled.

Bradley, restraining his inner turmoil, replied sternly, "Three months? Are you trying to kill me?"

He was merely an average man, burdened with the agony of sharing a bed with his wife night after night, yet refraining from the intimacy they both desired.

Freya's words slipped out unconsciously, "You're being naughty. I'm a doctor; I'll treat you."

At that moment, Bradley's demeanour shifted.

In the quiet room, he leaned in to kiss her, his voice murmuring softly in her ear, "Then I'm sick now, you treat me first."

Freya wanted to reprimand herself. Why did she say that? She was practically walking into a trap, especially when he spoke so bluntly, with a hint of mischief, leaving her feeling uneasy. "Don't talk nonsense. You don't need treatment."

"Darling, you're so cruel." Bradley pretended to be in pain, his voice close to her ear, his gaze intense.

Freya didn't want to acknowledge him. This man was dangerous now; she had to keep her distance. But as she struggled, his large hand grabbed her wrist, covering it with the blanket.

"Bradley, you... you promised not to touch me."

As she realized his intention, Freya shrieked.

The man smirked, mischief gleaming in his eyes. "I'm not touching you. You may touch me."

This man was utterly shameless!

He was playing mind games with her, and she had easily fallen into his trap.

Freya instinctively wanted to kick him, but he quickly restrained her.

"Let go of me! Now, or I'll disable you!" Freya's voice was both shy and angry, tinged with a threat.

The man chuckled, mischief evident on his face, as he bit her blushing cheek and murmured, "You won't."

Indeed, she wouldn't have done it.

This man was her husband, the one she was going to spend her life with. If she disabled him, how could they be happy in the future?

But with him acting like this, Freya couldn't help but feel a twinge of hatred.

"Indeed, the moniker Doctor Lexi suits you well, with your exceptional medical prowess." his voice, deep and mellifluous, carried a seductive tenderness that stirred a whirlwind of loathing within her.

How had she not noticed before that this man was so shameless?

Seeing her annoyance, Bradley felt oddly pleased.

But the next moment, he gasped in pain.

This damn woman was really ruthless, poking him with needles!

Freya freed her hands, watching with hands on hips as he writhed in pain. "I warned you earlier. It's your fault for not listening."

Bradley, looking at the woman's triumphant posture, gnashed his teeth in hatred, enduring the pain all over his body, pulled out the silver needles on his body.

Not one, but a total of five.

"Baby, you are really becoming more and more in need of discipline." Bradley dangerously squinted his eyes, then pounced forward, directly embracing her in his arms, gritting his teeth, "Being so cruel to your husband, aren't you afraid of really ruining me, huh?"
