Chapter 205 No Love, Only Responsibility.

"Your father has already sold you to me. You won't be escaping tonight." The boss wildly laughed as he signaled for the thugs to surround Freya. "Serve me well tonight, little lady. I'm definitely better than Bradley."

Freya scowled.

She never expected Bruce to stoop so low as to actually sell her to these thugs.

Unforgivable!

As the thugs rushed toward her, she lifted her foot and kicked the closest one. With clenched fists, she hatefully glared at Bruce.

"How can there be such a disgusting creature like you live in this world? You'll only ruin the country with your presence. Bruce, I regret letting you live. I should have let you suffer in prison like Sophie."

With that, Freya snatched a knife from one of the thugs. She was filled with hatred as charged toward Bruce.

However, before she could get close to him, another group of men rushed in to block her from getting closer.

Freya coldly glared at Bruce as she spoke, enunciating each word. "I will personally send you to hell so that my mother can see you for who you really are. You, Bruce, are a hypocrite and a rotten creature only fit to live in the gutter. Men like you should be sent to the deepest depths of hell, unworthy of ever being born as a human."

Bruce was terrified by the resentment in her eyes. His body uncontrollably shivered. In Freya's indifferent eyes, he saw bloodlust.

He had always thought her to be as weak and easy to control as Charlotte. Today, he finally realizes that she was different.

Freya was more ruthless and cunning.

If she could leave here safely today, he would never experience a good day in his life.

"Kai, take her down. Otherwise, even you won't be able to walk out alive," Bruce hysterically roared. After the few times he had failed due to her cunning, he believed that she would find a way to continue torturing him.

Moreover, she had Bradley supporting her. Even Sigelac was helping her. The powers backing her up were not to be underestimated.

"Defeat her. I am going to have a good time today," Kai lewdly said.

"Yes."

The thugs slowly approached her. They had the advantage of numbers. Even if she was skilled in martial arts, she would not be able to leave the scrapyard alive.

As more and more people closed in on her, Freya's intuition told her that things were not looking good.

She gritted her teeth and hurled the knife in her hand toward Bruce. Even if she could not escape unscathed, she was determined to take that beast down with her.

"Ahh!"

A wretched cry was heard as Bruce failed to dodge in time. The knife went straight into his calf, causing blood to start gushing out.

"Destroy her! Destroy her!"

Bruce's face twisted in a grimace as he screamed and yelled like a madman.

Ignoring him, Freya took down several thugs. However, she was outnumbered and could only stall them until Ella arrived.

As she thought that, the sounds of a scuffle came from outside.

Kai gestured for a few thugs to go check it out before he pulled out a handkerchief and sprayed something onto it. Then, he slowly moved toward Freya.

Freya swiftly knocked down several more thugs with a few knifehand strikes, but there were too many of them. Soon, there were multiple hard objects pressed against her back.

"Miss Lawson, just stay still and behave. Guns are just objects. One accident and you might be in big trouble."

Freya stiffly remained still. Just then, she noticed something moving outside.

"Freya, are you inside?" Ella called from outside.

Just as Freya was about to respond, a handkerchief covered her mouth and nose, causing a pungent smell to fill her nostrils and her consciousness to gradually fade away.

Dizziness overwhelmed her.

...

Austin Corporation.

Bradley glanced at his watch. It was already 5:30 p.m.

He put down his pen and swiftly packed his things away so that he could go home. Just then, his phone buzzed from where it was on the table.

The name "Juliet Jordan" was displayed on the screen, causing his hand to hesitantly hover in the air.

He furrowed his brows and pondered for a moment before ultimately answering his phone.

"Brady, I have made many Solterran dishes that you love. Are you almost done with work?" The girl's happy voice came through the microphone, soft, sweet and pleasing to the ears.

Bradley pinched his brow as he flatly replied, "I have a meeting later and won't be able to make it for dinner. You don't have to wait for me."

On the other end, Juliet's fingers tightened around the phone as a frighteningly unpleasant look showed on her face.

A meeting?

Harry said that all meetings for today were done. Bradley had to be lying to her.

Juliet bit her lip and tried to make her sound as gentle and warm as possible. "No way. I made all this for you. I was even hurt while cooking. If you're busy, I'll bring some for you so that we can eat together."

"Juliet." Bradley tugged at his tie as he continued in a low voice, saying, "There's really no need. I've already eaten."

The more Juliet heard, the more disappointed she was. She even called Harry to ask. Bradley had not eaten dinner yet, but he was now telling her he had.

Does he hate me that much?

Or does he want to reserve his appetite to have dinner with that woman in his home?

"Brady, am I being difficult?" Juliet sounded extremely aggrieved as she let out a few choked sobs.

Bradley's head throbbed with a migraine. His knuckles had turned white from how hard he was gripping his phone as he softly reassured her, saying, "Not at all. I brought you here, so I'll have someone take good care of you."

"What about you? Will you take care of me?" Juliet coyly asked.

Bradley fell silent.

He had once promised to take care of her for life, but only as a brother.

However, since the incident three years ago, he had begun to keep his distance from Juliet.

Because of his revenge, he would fly back to Solterra every year. He would meet with Juliet then.

Juliet used to be innocent. Even when she coquettishly clung to him, she would not overstep the boundaries.

However, on Juliet's eighteenth birthday, she confessed her love for him and was even prepared to fully let him have her, which made him deeply aware of her feelings for him.

Bradley felt no love for Juliet, only a sense of duty.

During the war in Solterra, the Jordans sacrificed themselves so that he could safely leave Solterra. All 131 of the Jordans died in the war.

Juliet, who was being fostered by distant relatives, was the sole survivor.

Bradley successfully escaped Solterra, and after establishing himself in the Austins, sent for Juliet so that she could live with him. However, Juliet volunteered to stay in Solterra as his informant.

For generations, the Jordans had been warriors dedicated to protecting Solterra.

For revenge, Bradley agreed to Juliet's request and placed her in a small town where she would live, disguised as a commoner to gather information on the Logan family.

Over the years, Juliet has appeared in various events, attracting the attention of Ian who then stole her virginity.
