Chapter 213 Be Honest with Her

He immediately called Xavier and asked him to look after Juliet. Then, he turned around and headed for the suburbs.

Even though Juliet had done him a favor, Freya held a higher place in his heart.

He knew his responsibilities, but he couldn't bear to see his beloved woman suffer.

Bradley would tell her everything when she woke up.

He shut up the phone and stretched beside her, bringing her close.

The faint scent of medicine from her body dispelled the pain in his head and helped him relax completely.

Just as he started to doze off, his phone rang again urgently.

Bradley got out of bed and went to the balcony to answer the call, fearful of waking her.

"Bradley, Juliet is throwing a tantrum again. I'm afraid you'll have to come over."

Xavier sighed helplessly.

Bradley frowned and glanced back at Freya, who was still sleeping soundly.

She was fine now, but Juliet had depression. If she didn't see him now, she might do something impulsive.

A sense of duty compelled him to go over.

He picked up his suit jacket from the sofa and left with quiet steps, closing the door gently behind him so as not to wake her.

But he didn't know that the moment the door closed, Freya had already opened her eyes.

Where was he going at this hour?

...

Bradley drove to his private villa.

It was a property under his name, known only to a few brothers besides him as his residence.

When he arrived, Juliet was lying on the bed with thick bandages on her wrists, frowning deeply.

"What happened to her?"

"Her depression flared up because she couldn't see you. She thought you hated her for not wanting to see her and while I went to the bathroom, she cut her wrists."

Xavier stayed by her side after receiving the call, not leaving for a moment. He saw her make a scene a few times and he also gave her sedatives, but he didn't expect her to self-harm.

He walked over to Juliet on the bed after staring at her coldly.

"Bradley, don't leave me. Don't abandon me." Juliet seemed to be dreaming, murmuring this repeatedly.

Bradley clenched his fists, struggling internally.

He regretted sending Juliet undercover. She wouldn't be in this state now if he hadn't done that.

Juliet slowly opened her eyes after murmuring heavily.

She sprang into Bradley's arms. "Bradley, I thought you didn't want me anymore."

Bradley's body was stiff with discomfort. He forced himself to pat her on the back. "You've done me a favor. How could I not want you? Don't overthink it."

"But you've been avoiding me all this time. You must hate me."

"I don't hate you. There were urgent matters at the company."

Juliet bit her lip hard. He used the company's business as an excuse to brush her off again. Clearly, he was with that woman.

She felt resentful and jealous.

She knew she couldn't be too obvious. That woman was Bradley's wife, after all.

So she chose such an extreme way to force him to see her.

It turned out that he still cared about her.

Even if Bradley didn't love her, he couldn't ignore her because of the Jordan family's service to Solterra.

"How about you stay with me tonight? I'm so scared being alone here."

"I'll arrange for servants to take care of you tomorrow. You won't be alone anymore."

Bradley's muscles tightened and a strong sense of suffocation struck. He finally pushed her away uncontrollably.

Juliet still wanted to pounce, but Xavier quickly stopped her. "Juliet, your hand is still injured. You need more rest."

"I'm fine." Juliet bit her lip and glared at Xavier.

Bradley's Adam's apple bobbed as he spoke hoarsely, "You're not in a good mental state. Xavier will look after you for a while."

"What about you?" Juliet looked at him with teary eyes.

Bradley fell silent, pondering how to respond.

Juliet could tell that he was reluctant. She clenched her tiny fists, pursed her lips, and pretended obedient.

"Bradley, are you worried that Freya will get mad?"

"She is not a petty woman."

Bradley's raspy voice echoed while delicate beads of sweat from discomfort coated his forehead.

The reason he was allergic to women derived from Juliet's willingness to sacrifice herself when she was eighteen.

In recent years, his condition has worsened to the point where even a casual hug would trigger it.

He was allergic to all women except Freya.

Right now, all Bradley could think about was that woman. He wanted to hold, kiss, and breathe in her scent.

"The woman you like must be extraordinary."

"Yes, she is indeed exceptional."

Bradley couldn't take it anymore, and his face grew even paler.

Xavier looked at him with concern, knowing he was in a bad state and needed immediate treatment to avoid life-threatening risks.

"Bradley, I need to discuss something urgent with you. Shall we go to the study to talk?"

"Okay," said Bradley. After that, he glanced at Juliet. "You sleep well. I'll wait for you to sleep before leaving."

After speaking, he stood up with a heavy heart and walked towards the study.

Juliet gritted her teeth in frustration.

He refused to stay, even though she got injured like this.

Did he truly love that woman so much?

Juliet suddenly felt a strong desire to see Freya, to see the alluring woman that captivated Bradley.

As soon as the door to the study opened, Bradley stumbled uncontrollably towards the sofa.

Fortunately, Xavier quickly caught him before he could hit the coffee table.

"Bradley, how do you plan to deal with Juliet? It's obvious that she hasn't given up on you yet."

Xavier helped the man sit down and quickly gave him an injection.

After a while, Bradley's face began to look better. He leaned heavily on the sofa, his brows furrowed tightly.

"She has done Solterra a favor. I cannot abandon her."

Xavier sat opposite him, massaging his aching forehead. "Don't forget, you have Freya now. She'll flip out if she finds out you're keeping another woman outside."

"I will be honest with her."

"Bradley, are you sure you want to do this? Do you know honesty has consequences?"

Xavier was surprised that the usually meticulous Bradley could speak of being completely honest.

Being honest would reveal his identity as the heir of Solterra and jeopardize their long-standing plans.

"Are you willing to bet Solterra's fate on a woman?"

"I believe she will be willing to fight alongside me!" Bradley stated without hesitation, closing his eyes.

"Bradley—"

"Enough," Bradley stopped him. He had made up his mind, and no one would change it.

He didn't want to wait until she discovered Juliet's existence and became heartbroken.

That's his way of being honest with her.
