Chapter 230 Making Them Suspicious

"Let's go. Let's ask him! Still, no matter what the truth is, remember that you are not fighting alone. You still have me and Madeline."

"Thank you, Ella."

Freya gratefully hugged Ella.

Then, she called Xavier to inquire about Bradley's ward number before heading to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Freya did not let Ella follow her. Instead, she approached the ward alone.

She took a deep breath and was about to knock on the door when she heard voices from inside.

"Brady, I won't take to heart what happened last night. I will find a time to explain to Freya that it was just an accident," Juliet said.

"No need. I will explain things to her myself," Bradley said.

"It's all my fault that it happened. It's natural for Freya to feel upset, but you were also caught in the moment and couldn't help it. You're not to be blamed."

Juliet's apologetic voice came from behind the door, causing Freya to clench her fists.

Then, there was a moment of silence.

After a while, Bradley's voice was heard.

"I heard that you nearly had a miscarriage yesterday and should rest in bed more."

"I'm fine now. Freya gave me a shot to protect my baby yesterday, and the doctor just checked and said the baby is safe. Still, what happened to you last night? Why did you act like that all of a sudden? You were so forceful. I thought I was going to lose the baby."

Upon hearing that, Bradley frowned.

He had already instructed Shadow to deal with the video. If it was not resolved before the banquet that evening, he would have to resort to asking Poppy.

Before that happened, he had no way to explain anything to Freya about what happened between Juliet and him.

The more he thought about it, the more his head began to throb. Restlessness surged through his body and overwhelmed him.

Juliet approached him and pretended to lose her balance before falling into his arms. His eyes quickly turned red, and he roughly grabbed her wrist.

"Gentle, Brady. You're hurting me."

Her weak body collapsed into his arms with her arms still holding onto his neck. Bradley felt a fiery restlessness all over his body and forcefully pushed Juliet away.

Juliet staggered and actually lost her balance, falling to the ground and letting out a scream.

"Brady, don't..."

Bradley's mind was out of control with an endless irritability pressing on his nerves. At that moment, as he looked into Juliet's eyes, it seemed like he wanted to tear her apart.

Juliet kept screaming, even emitting a low moan when Bradley grabbed her neck.

Standing outside the room, Freya heard every single sound.

His heavy breathing and Juliet's low moans were like a bewitching melody that shook her heart with each new sound, granting her almost suffocating pain.

Even a fool could tell what was going on inside.

Freya no longer wanted to hear Bradley's explanation as everything pointed to the fact that Bradley really did it with Juliet.

Since that was the case, why did she need to barge in and ruin his good mood only to bring disaster upon herself?

Originally, she married into the Royal Garden Mansion to conceal her identity. Now that her mother had been avenged, she had no reason to stay any longer.

Once the Cloudstone Corporation's party was over tonight, she would center herself and leave this place of trouble.

Freya turned around, and her heavy footsteps echoed in the corridor.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room.

Bradley was frantically grabbing Juliet's neck, and Juliet endured the pain and threat of having her neck snapped as she carefully listened to the sounds from outside.

It was only when the footsteps faded away that she fought and forcefully shoved a small needle into Bradley's neck.

Bradley's muscular body staggered, and he fell unconscious on the bed.

Juliet touched her neck, which was sore from being choked, and looked at Bradley's handsome face with a satisfied smirk.

She had just arrived at the hospital when she saw Freya getting out of the car from afar. That was why she deliberately staged this scene.

Freya had been eavesdropping outside all along.

She had heard both what she should and should not have.

She was probably disappointed in Bradley now, believing that he was having an affair with Juliet.

Juliet was extremely pleased. Her opponent was nothing special and easily pushed back with just a few words.

To think that Freya dared to compete with Juliet when she was so weak. Freya had overestimated herself.

Juliet helped Bradley back to bed, gently stroking his face. No matter how many times she looked at him, she was deeply fascinated and could not help herself.

When she thought back to last night and the view of his open shirt, firm chest and perfect V-line made her blush as her heart raced. His sculpted abs were especially tempting.

If Xavier had not suddenly barged in, Bradley's body would have belonged to her.

"Brady, it won't be long. Soon, you will truly belong to me."

Juliet's lips tilted up in a confident smile.

She did not need to steal him. As long as the couple were suspicious of each other, all she wanted would be easily gotten.

...

Freya left the hospital in a distracted state.

What she heard kept echoing in her ears.

Bradley treated Juliet harshly while they flirted in the ward...

No wonder he did not call her from last night until now, it turned out he had been with Juliet the entire time.

Her legs felt weak. Even though it was July, she was shivering from an icy chill.

"Freya? What's wrong?"

The car window rolled down, and Ella stuck her head out.

Freya looked at her with confusion as a bitter smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. "I'm fine."

Ella frowned and scrutinized her with eyes filled with worry.

"How did the conversation go? Did he explain everything to you? How, between him and Juliet, there is actually nothing..."

"Ella, let's go. There's a celebration at Cloudstone Corporation tonight. I can't be late," Freya interrupted her, not wanting to continue the conversation.

She got into the car as if nothing had happened. There was a deep look in her eyes that made it impossible for others to decipher what she was thinking.

Ella could guess as Freya was avoiding the topic.

However, when it comes to matters of the heart, avoidance would only lead to greater misunderstandings and distant hearts if not explicitly addressed.

"Are you planning to completely break ties with him?"

Freya sniffed and looked out the window as she solemnly nodded.

"In the next few days, slowly transfer the Lawson Group overseas. After the celebration is over, I plan to leave here and start anew."

Regardless of what happened between him and Juliet, she no longer cared.

Bradley's existence was originally an accident. There were too many secrets between them, and neither could come clean to the other.

This meant that there would always be an insurmountable gap between them. Even if she chose to believe in him this time, what about the next time?

She was tired and did not want to expend energy on relationships.

Ella knew she was in a bad mood now and did not say much as she drove away from the hospital.
