Chapter 252 Conspiracy

"Promise me, from now on, you won't allow yourself to get hurt anymore. If you have another accident, I might just go find someone else…" Before she could finish her sentence, the man forcefully silenced her with a kiss.

As they passionately entwined, their intensity grew until their breath became unsteady, and only then did they break apart.

"I won't give you that chance. You're not leaving me in this lifetime." he declared dominantly, his tone brooking no argument.

They held each other tightly until a knock at the door interrupted them.

"Freya, could you come to my office for a moment?" came the voice from outside.

"Sure, I'll be right there." Freya replied, turning to leave.

Bradley's expression darkened as he narrowed his eyes at her. "Since when did you become so close to Xavier?"

"Jealous, are you?" she teased.

"Yes, I don't want you getting too close to other men." he admitted without hesitation.

"But he's your friend."

"Even if he were my brother, I wouldn't allow it."

The man was like a pot of overturned vinegar, unreasonable and overbearing

Freya poked him. "He's a doctor, I'm a traditional medicine practitioner. We complement each other in certain medical aspects, it's called academic exchange. You're not allowed to be jealous without reason."

She then held his face and kissed him firmly. "I have to go now, I'll be back soon.'"

Worried that the man wouldn't agree, she hurried away.

In Xavier's office, Freya sat down opposite him with a grave expression.

"Is the blood report out?" she inquired.

"Yes, as you suspected, he was poisoned." Xavier confirmed, pushing the report towards her.

As Freya carefully perused the report, her suspicions deepened.

"This might be a new type of poison. The ingredients have yet to be identified, so we need to send it to a lab for further analysis." Xavier explained.

"I know a toxicology expert abroad. Perhaps we can send the blood samples to him for testing. I'll contact him immediately." Freya suggested, reaching for her phone.

Freya fished out her phone and dialed a number, which was quickly answered on the other end.

"Hey Freya, what prompted this sudden call?" came the voice of Dr. Jacobs.

"Dr. Jacobs, I've encountered a patient who's prone to outbursts and agitation. When the illness strikes, they become frenzied, with bloodshot eyes. My preliminary diagnosis is poisoning, possibly from a new toxin. We would like your assistance to determine the ingredients of the toxin."

"Okay, send me the blood sample." replied Dr. Jacobs.

Freya then briefed him on Bradley's condition, which Dr. Jacobs replied with some advice.

After hanging up the call, she returned to the sofa, sipping on a cup of tea.

Xavier scrutinized her deeply for a long time.

After a while, he spoke up, "Freya, it seems like there's quite a background of you. From what I know, before you married into the Royal Garden Mansion, you were always in the countryside. Even though you inherited the medical skills from the renowned medical master Mr. Gunther, how did you come to know a foreign expert in toxicology?"

Freya raised an eyebrow, "Are you investigating me?"

"I wouldn't dare. I'm just curious. If it's not convenient for you to disclose, then forget about it." Xavier said, not liking to pry and didn't press further.

Once everything was arranged, Freya handed the blood samples to Ella.

She had thought about sending it directly, but the delivery would take too long. She couldn't wait, so she decided to have Ella make the trip personally.

Later, outside the hospital room. Freya overheard a conversation.

"Juliet almost exposed your identity earlier. When do you plan to come clean with Freya?"

"I'll wait a bit longer. That side is getting more restless lately. The more she knows, the more dangerous it becomes."

That side?

Freya's gaze hardened.

She shouldn't have eavesdropped on their conversation, but her feet wouldn't move.

"How's the investigation into the accident going?"

"The driver has already fled, and the surveillance footage from that section of the road has been destroyed. We can't find out what happened. Now we can only wait for Harry to wake up and see if we can get any clues from him."

Hearing this, Freya became even more suspicious. Everything seemed like a conspiracy. The driver fled, and the surveillance was destroyed. What looked like a simple traffic accident was riddled with inconsistencies.

Deciding to investigate further, Freya headed towards Harry's room.

Meanwhile, in Juliet's ward, she held her phone tightly, dialling a number that went unanswered. No one replied to her texts either.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

Before Juliet could respond, the door was pushed open, startling her. She was about to scream when a shadow swiftly covered her mouth.

She struggled to break free from his grasp, glaring at him in anger. "Are you out of your mind? How did you find me here?"

"I came to see how my beloved woman is doing. Son't you welcome me?"

The man was dressed in all black casual clothes, with a cap and a mask, obscuring his face from view.

Upon seeing Juliet, he quickly removed all the cover-ups, revealing the grim scars on his face.

Disgusted, Juliet averted her gaze. She despised this face.

He roughly grasped her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Are you afraid of me? Do you find me repulsive?"

"Juan, you're just someone sent by Ian to help me. Aren't you afraid I'll expose all your dirty deeds? Ian won't spare you."

Juliet truly found his face revolting. Ian had sent Juan to assist her when she returned to the capital. They hadn't contacted each other much during this time. If she hadn't been forced, she wouldn't have called him to plan the car accident.

"I've had my way with you, bitch. Don't forget, you also have a lot of dirt on me. When the time comes, no one will have it easy." Juan sneered.

Juliet's face darkened. She clenched her fist, desperately wanting to kill him. But she knew she wasn't his match.

"What do you want?"

Regret filled her. She shouldn't have acted out of jealousy. She had been so anxious when Bradley insisted on leaving with Freya, even to the point of wanting to destroy them.

Now, with all three of them alive and well, she found herself entangled with Juan.

"The boss sent me to tell you, act fast. Even if Bradley doesn't die, he'll need to crippled. You figure it out yourself!"

Juan embraced her from behind, his hand becoming increasingly inappropriate.

Juliet endured her inner disgust, gritting her teeth. "You had the chance to run them over with your car, but you failed."

"That's why I'm counting on you. Inject all the poison you have into him. Then, Bradley will be at our mercy."

"His people are already starting to suspect me."

Juliet suddenly had an idea.

Why not let Juan deal with Freya?
