As a man, of course he knew what this meant.
Clearing his throat awkwardly, he blurted out, "Uh, since you're busy, just give me the address later when you got time. I won't disturb you."
Then, he hung up the phone.
As the 'beep' tone of the disconnected call sounded, Freya was furious.
She didn't waste a second before punching him again.
"Seriously? You're acting like a kid, is it fun?"
Sean must've gotten the wrong idea. Otherwise, he wouldn't have rushed to hang up.
It was very embarrassing. She was all hyped up calling him out and now how was she supposed to face him?
"Well, it's kinda fun. At least he knows of my existence so he won't get too close to you."
Bradley smirked a bit. When she was on the phone just now, he was melting like butter.
If she hadn't been exhausted, he would have surely made her suffer for days.
Freya sighed, feeling defeated. "Are you seeing everyone as an enemy now?"
"Yes."
Bradley admitted without hesitation.
Freya was so angry, but she held back. She wanted to punch him, but she was worried he might flip out and she wouldn't be able to make a run for it. Best not to risk it.
Snatching the phone back, she sent her location to Sean.
It was way too early for this nonsense. She was exhausted and just wanted a hot bath to wash away the fatigue.
Otherwise, when Sean showed up and saw her like this, who knew what he'd think.
Even though Sean was a promising young man, he was also known for his sharp tongue.
Once he found something to tease you about, he wouldn't let it go. He would joke around all day, poking fun at you endlessly.
She preferred to keep these romantic details private.
"I'm going to take shower, will you tidy up too?"
"Do you still want to join?"
"You jerk."
Freya grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.
The man grinned wickedly, "Baby, I'll let you off easy this time, but I'll get you back tonight."
That creepy smirk made Freya clench her teeth.
She tried to hold back but couldn't resist, so she punched him in the chest, "You're teasing me too much, I'm … I'm running away."
"You think you have the guts?" He squinted, showing his possessive side.
"Try me. If you keep this up, I'll disappear on you."
Freya put her hands on her hips, hobbling and moaning as she made her way to the bathroom.
Ouch, it hurt.
It felt sore.
It felt so weak.
She took a deep breath, but before she knew it, the mas was carrying her horizontally into the bathroom.
"Hey, Bradley, quit messing around…"
Thankfully, Bradley just carried her into the bathroom, filled the tub, then left her.
Freya came out after cleaning up, finding Bradley in the midst of his own shower, changing clothes in front of the wardrobe.
He shrugged off his robe, revealing his strong, toned back, muscles tense and powerful.
Freya couldn't help but blush as she watched him. Thoughts of last night flooding her mind.
How did she become such a naughty girl? Her mind filled with all these dirty thoughts.
The man caught her staring in the mirror, his lips curving into a smirk, "If you want to look, just look openly. No need to sneak around."
"Who, who's looking at you?"
She blushed, heart racing at his sudden words, feeling like she wanted to hit someone.
Bradley chuckled softly as he watched her reaction.
He loved teasing her, seeing her innocence and temptation, it was pure seduction.
Half an hour later,
Frederick called up, "Madam, someone named Sean is downstairs looking for you, saying he's got an appointment with you."
"Okay, I got it."
After Freya replied, she turned to Bradley, "Dr. Jacobs is here. Be nice to him. He came all the way to give you medical consultation. Don't get jealous and act up."
Bradley squinted, a dangerous glint in his eyes, "And you, don't even think about looking at him or talking to him."
Freya: "..."
Here we go again with Bradley.
He was not just bossy, he was also irrationally possessive.
The two of them headed downstairs together.
A man in a suit was seated on the sofa in the living room.
Tall and slim, with a sharp nose and fair skin, but his most striking feature was his blue eyes.
"Freya baby, long time no see."
Seeing her come down, Sean opened his arms for a hug, but a figure swiftly blocked Freya.
Facing that handsome face, their eyes met, and there was a hidden intensity.
Sean suddenly felt a cold shiver run down his spine
Bradley's presence was overpowering, disdainful, like a king looking down on everyone.
His eyes were cold and sharp.
Sean quickly looked away.
Luckily, he didn't get closer. Otherwise, was Bradley ready to remove his claws?
Freya sensed the tension and quickly spoke up.
"Dr. Jacobs, you must be tired from the flight. Why not have a drink first?"
"Yes, I'm a bit thirsty."
Sean took a deep breath and reached for the water.
Freya pulled Bradley to sit beside her, reminding him not to be jealous or confrontational, but it seemed he wasn't listening.
"I've explained everything over the phone. He hasn't had a relapse in the past few days, but his emotions are easily affected, just like earlier ... It's probably the toxin."
Freya figured the man's possessive behavior was due to the toxin's influence.
"I've got the reports on the toxin and blood you sent. Take a look."
Sean passed her the papers.
Freya glanced over them, seeing that both sets of data matched up.
"This new virus messed with the brain, controlling emotions and even causing violent outbursts," she explained.
Sean had a clear picture of the condition and was ready to examine Bradley.
But when he got close, Bradley glared at him, making him tremble, holding the stethoscope.
"Mr. Austin, I'll just check your heart and eyes. It won't hurt a bit."
Bradley stayed silent, eyeing him up with those intense eyes.
He had this typical Western features, with rosy lips, white teeth, and those blue eyes.
Sean felt uneasy, like Bradley could see right through him.
Being stared down like that made Sean's heart race with fear.
If he knew Bradley was this dangerous, he wouldn't have come.
After the check-up, Sean was covered in sweat.
"Freya, can we chat in private?"
"Sure."
Freya motioned for him to join her in the yard.
But as she stood, Bradley grabbed her hand, saying, "I'm coming too."
"Aren't you supposed to be at work? It's getting late, you should hurry and go."
"Nah, I can't. I gotta keep an eye on him. I can't relax with him around."
Bradley raised his eyebrows, his eyes showing a touch of paranoia, with a hint of red glow lingering beneath.
